Poor service and treatment to customers

We visited Sagar Ratna outlet at Janakpuri West metro station, Delhi. The staff there initially alloted us a seat and then suddenly in mid way comes and asks us to shift to other table. I mean who does this to consumers and that too to accommodate some other family members. Not at all acceptable behaviour. Want to ask if same thing would have been done to elderly persons also.

Charging GST on packaging charges

Recently I have visited a Sagar Ratna outlet based out in Vasant Square Mall, Vasant kunj, New Delhi-70 to order a Dosa.
Found in the bill that they have charged me GST on the packaging charges (after the GST calculated on the food cost).
Can you pls look into it. Attaching the bill.

Rude behaviour and wrong comment

I dine in for lunch on 21.05.23 at Sagar ratna Gopalpura Bypass Jaipur with family and friends around 20 persons and i have ordered a la carte.The person handling the desk offered a discount of 10% on total bill.but after lunch he refused to do so and misbehave with the members moreover after argument he refused to modify the bill as he can't change the bill.moreover the bill was split in two parts and he asked me to offer 10% discount on next visit which is not acceptable at all.kindly resolve the issue

Rude Behaviour of the Sagar Ratna

I am complaining about the rude behaviour of Sagar Ratna owner.He was abruptly abusing and said cuss words Ga****u and Behe****d and Bhons****e.I was discussing the packaging charges.Because packaging charges are not allowed.Bad restuarant never go to this cheap restuarant with cheap ethics and manners.

The complaint is regarding Sagar Ratna Ashok Vihar, Delhi. The person his name is Mr. Venkateswar doesn’t know how to talk with customers and his behaviour was rude and wasn’t polite. I want to file complaint against him and I want to request to the Top management of Sagar Ratna Of Delhi to take serious action against him or else this person will spoil goodwill of Sagar Ratna Brand.

Food Quality was worst, and behavior of Manager was worst
We visited Sagar Ratna at Pahalgam, it is situated at very nice place but having heavy traffic near it.
We had breakfast at "Dana Paani" near Sagar Ratna, it was really tasty and appreciable and crowd was decent, Behavior of the staff was so respectful.
Than we planned for Lunch at Sagar Ratna, we order to Deluxe Thalis', it was the so unhygienic and half baked food. The veg pulao served in thali was pulao without vegetable, it was simple rice colored yellow. The quality of Rice was so poor. The sweat served was Gulab Jamun which half baked and so hard. the papad and laccha parantha was half baked and worst to eat. when we go to manager for complaint, he was rude and his attitude shows as he has done some favor to us.
I will never visit any "Sagar Ratna" in my life and will suggest my friend circle also for the same.

Dish not clean properly and the behaviour of staff is not Good when i complaint staurt he said me that it happens (yeh toh ho jata hai kabhi kabhi) and when i said to manager he didn’t response he said okay like seriously is this the way they behave with the customer need an action.

Cockraoch serverd in Gulab Jamun

We went to Katra and had a dinner in Sagar Ratna outlet in Katra. We ordered multiple items with Gulab Jamun. We found Cockroach in Gulab Jamun. We called for store manager but nobody turned up and the staff was like if this is very normal for them. Next afternoon we had a train to catch and my 10 years old son got down with dehydration. We had to rush to hospital and got him admitted. We never expect this type of behavior from renowned food chain.

Extremely unprofessional Manager
We went to Sagar Ratna Guwahati for Dinner however they did not had south indian thali though it was there in Menu. Finally we ordered for Indian Thali and requested to provide Puri’s instead of butter naan and tandoori roti. They refused to do so and asked for extra charges for puri and citied that its company policy. I mean how can this be possible...Sagar Ratna team must understand that thali’s across the country has option and last time they did served. I think, the adamant manager needs to be sacked if they want to stay customer centric. The manager was behaving like a top bureaucrat and was only talking abt his conditions.

Hello Team, I would like to file a Complaint against uncivilized manager. I had visited to you defence Colony new delhi branch and had following dishes. Masala dosa buttwr, dahi vada and rawa paneer dosa. We didn't like dahi vada portion size and the same complaint has been escalated to your manager but the manager available there behaved in a very rude manner with my mother and said used some unacceptable, vulgar phrases like " aap bhar jake nacho" "hum toh kuch nahi sunega yahi bechege jo ukhadhna hai ukhad lo" the tone, the language and the attitude was ruthless and shameful even as a human being. I wonder how you are hiring such uncivilized people and making them managers they are representatives of your brand and this is how they behave with the CUSTOMER . Is this the training you are giving to your employees or are you hiring people from roadside and making them stand and represent your brand. Is that low your standard and brand is? I felt like giving that ### a tight slap right then and there but I'm not uncivilized and wild like him. Kindly look into this and I'm also filing complaint in consumer court. Thanks

I reached sagar ratna, Meerut, Near Lal Kurti, 250001, Uttar Pardesh at 6 Pm on 17July 2021.
Firstly the behaviour of the staff thereover was very inappropriate and the service was very poor.
I ordered dahi and spring roll dosa firstly, that was superb. But later on I ordered north indian food dal makhani, paneer butter masala and chappatis all of them were worst. Both the dishes are tasteless and chappatis were cold.
Also while I had dahi and spring roll dosa, the waiter named sunny who was serving was in very hurry to complete the order, even I and my parents had not finished the food that we were eating, the waiter sunny was in so hurry that he removed our plates and served the north indian, infact I told him please wait tonprovide north indian food after 10 minutes but he served asap.
Sir please look into the matter as your prestegious brand is in and take strict action against the manager as well as staff of the restaurent.

Fraud order

Hello Everyone,
I would like to share a fraud that happened today at 11:30 AM, there was an offer post on facebook, Sagar Ratna restaurant - offering Buy 1 and get 2 meals free for just Rs. 200/-, they even sent a link on messenger to be filled, and asked for Rs. 10/- as a token and remaining 190/- later on delivery. We did the payment through HDFC bank and within 10 minutes the entire account was nil (amount was good enough), the mobile number is still operating, he is not responding in a decent manner. I am sharing this with you all to be safe and keep away from such fraudsters. I did a cyber crime and police complaint with no positive response.
Anyone from my contacts, if you could help or share the details with any concerned authority or even share - It would be glad. He also spoke to me on my handheld for more than 15 minutes, i am sure he hacked my handheld device to delete the transaction ID and also hacked my social media accounts and would have stolen data from my mobile.

Bad quality
I have ordered from sagar ratna through zomato around 10 at night. I have received a very bad quality o[censored]ttapan. Then i called the restaurant and said u ordered late that's why this is what they can make. And no refund and that are not even ready to replace or listen. I also have a picture.

hurt of devotional and religious beliefs

I was on 9 days navratra fasting currently. Mean while due to some work at cannaught place delhi on[protected] it became 9:30 and we visited sagar ratna cannaught corcle k-15 for dinner along with my husband and brother.
As available on menu we ordered sabudana vda (As on menu it was written vda). But they served us sambhar vda (We came to know afterward).
We doubted this item and confirmed from waiter who served this but he told us that it is sabudana vda. We thought ok may me they serve fasting sambher with it and i eat that.
After some time some another waiter bring item stating that it is sabudana vda. But we told him that some one already gave this to us. Waiter told us that this is sabudana vda. Then we came to know that my fast is broken by eating normal vada.
This hurted me a lot and hurted my religious beliefs, hurted my devotion for fasting.
When we told this to manager he said that dont pay any of vada but we paid for both items.
I want that consumer forum must take action against this act (Weather this is done by knowingly or unknowingly) so that i future they can not do this with orher person.
I trusted sagar ratha as brand but they broke my trust.
I am attaching bill copy. Also if required please check cctv during that time. Please take action accordingly.

not satisfied. poor taste
The service is very poor . bad behaviour of the staff.The taste is not good. No variations. The filling of masala dosa and the bhaji with puri are the same.
The staff instead of finding a solution is having an argument with me.
According to me this is not the standard of Sagar Ratna.
Very disappointed. Will not suggest any one to come to Sagar Ratna.

low food & service quality

We come vaishno devi every year & we eat food only in sagar ratna, the qulaity && service of karta & bhawan's outlet is very good but at ARDHKUARI outlet Employee is not co-operative, food quality is toooo much low specially "Chowmin, Tea, sambhar, bhatore is too oily, manchurian". After complaint manager said we are helpless, we can't do anything. Sorry to said but the food quality is similar to cart hawkers. Please improve it's my humbble request & take strict action on this outlet, they spoiling your brand name. (Photo's not uploading)

charging way too much

We ordered North Indian Food and told the waiter to bring onion for us. When the bill came, we saw they have charged us Rs.100 for that. This is what we get free in all over India with North Indian Food. Even the local shops would give you onion along with the food.
When we went to the counter regarding this issue, they did not even listen to us and argued. Paying Rs. 100 for a piece of single onion is way too much. I didn't expect this thing from Sagar Ratna. I am highly dissatisfied. This has never happened with us anywhere.
Please look into this matter as soon as possible.

poor services and manager misbehaviour

I went to the sagar ratna on 1st dec'2018 in sarojini nagar, i had ordered number of items at 1:47 pm along with 2 filter coffee. I had not received coffee till 2:30 pm and when following up with the waiter ans restaurant they misbehaved saying that what we can do it takes time to prepare these things. Also, when i asked for the explanation he said that he don't like to share. You got your coffee now u can have it and pay the bill. This is really disgusting as with so much name of this chain in the market. The way employee treat the customers that is not correct. We pay for good services and food but thing is our get wasted due to this.

excessive salt in the dishes

Today i along with my family visited sector 35 chandigarh sagar ratna. We ordered south indian dishes like utpam, dosa and idli etc. After taking few bites we observed that excessive salt in samber as well as uttapam/dosa. We informed the serving people about the same. They tested and a few of one admitted the same. We then left the food still they have charged full amount after admitting the excessive salt.
I hereby request you not to go to sector 35 chandigarh sagar ratna restaurant of their poor quality as well as service.

bad hospitality, irresponsible and careless

My father visited Sagar Ratna restaurant in gorakhpur to attend a get-together. As he stepped to enter, he was hurt by the door knob badly on his nose. His nose started bleeding badly, blood dropped all-over his face and clothes. Instead of apologizing nobody came to assist him from the staff. After a while all he got was a bandage!!
The carelessness of the staff can't be forgiven, the door was of glass with no proper lights on outside to see clearly, half open... No doorman was there and not even a sign for caution. To the worst, such kind of accidents are quite common there. And, the staff has remained ignorant like always. My father is experiencing pain in his frontal lobe of head from that Saturday 26 may 2018 night.
No apologies were made to him, instead he was asked by the waiter to tip him.
I hope for worst for sagar ratna... If they aren't going to improve!

Very bad service
Waited for 30 minutes for rotis in bw dinner and the restaurant was empty... and when we again said then the waiters ignored.. after this when we asked for bill all the staff was busy in chattering... we went out with half stomaches.. really a very shameful service in restaurent of this kind

I had ordered tamarind rice from sagar ratna greater kailash 2 outlet. I have clearly mentioned over the phone for the same. Firstly, they asked me to send someone to collect as they would not be able to deliver before 1 hour. When i sent my office boy, he gave me bessibela bhat. When i called and complaint for the same, they asked me to come and collect the tamrind rice. I again sent my office boy an he has given rice full of red chilli...

complaint regarding non functional washroom at sagar ratna, mohan estate, new delhi

I along with my 6 family members visited sagar ratna restaurant, mohan co-operative, new delhi on 17 february 2018 (Please refer invoice no. 10683 dated 17.02.2018 07:10 p. M.).
My family member had to use the washroom but were surprised to hear that the washroom was not functional. We had no alternative but to locate the washroom in the nearby area. This had put us in a very embarrassing and awkward situation.
As per the delhi government rules the public is free to use the washroom facility at restaurants even if they're not visiting the restaurant for eating purposes.
In view of the above i feel it was not justified for the restaurant to claim the invoice for rs.1229.00
Please arrange to refund the above amount immediately failing which i'll be constrained to take actions deemed fit.

I visited sagar ratna alambagh branch, lucknow on 12tg aug which is owned by dr jain. The food served to us was stale and full of smell.
The rava masala dosa seemed like plastic being served and in the name of filter coffee it was milk and coffee powder floating.
My mother has been puking since she came home and both my mothers and my stomach is upset due to food piosoning.
Kindly make sure they improve their quality of food served or shut down such a dirty filthy place.

I happened to dine at dwarka sector 6 market at 930 pm on 01/11/16.First of all, the bathroom reeks o[censored]rine!! Unhygenic to the core! Besides that I requested the manager if i can share the table with a guest! As there was a vacant seat there and it was lying idle there. A manager by the name alok mishra started shouting and pointed fingers at me in the restaurant! in front of everybody and told me that is against the policies! He could have been polite and said so.but situation turned out to be the opposite! Does the management of sagar ratna train its employess on being courteous???.?? Well, i dont think so.

I was down with fever since past few days and felt like eating outside to change my taste buds. I assumed that Sagar Ratna would be the best choice option in terms of hygiene and cleanliness however today's experience was a big eye opener for me.
After work, I visited Sagar Ratna Sector 9, Panchkula, today[protected] around 7.30 pm with a friend & we ordered a RAVA DOSA Combo. The pictures of small cockroach found in the food describes the rest of the story. Pictures attached.
Needless to say, I was thoroughly disgusted!
While the restaurant manager was quite ashamed and immediately offered to replace the food but, who could have eaten the meal at that point.
Frankly, your staff’s consideration isn’t enough compensation for such a devastating experience.
I am confident that this occurrence is not in compliance with health code standards and I expect a response to this mishap. You may reach me at to discuss this situation further. Rest assured, if I do not receive a timely response, I will not hesitate to tell others of my misfortune while dining at Sagar Ratna. And, I shall also inform the proper city and health officials so that they may take appropriate actions.

I am sharing my today’s personal experience with Sagar Ratna, most trusted chain of restaurants highly acclaimed for its HYGENICALLY prepared South Indian food.

Bad experience at the outlet

After many years i went to Sagar Ratna, janak puri with my family, i seriously feel its not sagar ratna its fake sagar ratna, pl see the bullet points below -
1. Firstly i ordered Mysore masala dosa but got normal masala dosa, they said the guy who punched the order made a mistake.
2. Later the chutneys given to us were in piece meals and with lot of delay, we were so hungry we finished without waiting for them.
3. No taste in dosa, uttapam and even the chutneys, also idlys were not soft and were dry.
4. The dosa were cold and soggy, what is point of going and having cold and soggy as that what you get when you order home.
5. Service was poor, also the bill was not clear as they said there is a problem in the printer, anyway, i paid the full amount.
6. Also the Ambiance was very dull as it was dark and dingy inside as they are saving on electricity bill.
7. Lastly, no parking at the outlet and whatever was there was totally ill managed, had to park at nearby mall and came walking in the rain, dogging the cars and traffic with my family.
The entire experience has left me disappointed and scared to go to Sagar ratna, as i have been to all your outlkets in delhi and have been a patron since 1989 but janak puri experience has shaken me up and sincerely pray to you that kindly look into my SOS call and improve things there as i have grown up with this food joint.

We visited khandari branch of sagar ratna at agraWe have ordered sambar dosa the quality of sambar if poor and vegetables are not properly boiled and the coconut chutny is also not good it also tastes bad the food is not up to the standard at sagar ratan and prices are too high according to quality and size. We have also ordered thali which have mix vegetable which is also of sub standrad quality and the paneer also smells bad
