delay in submission of premium cheque, due to that lapse of policy

My Vehicle (maruthi Alto AP 16 BA 3672) insurance policy was due in September 2012 and I had sent my premium cheque to the the dealers The Mithra Agencies, opp: All India Radio, M G Road, Vijayawada for onward submission to NATMAR for renewal.
I Posted my Andhra Bank Cheque No.00026 dated 28.09.2012 to Mitra Agencies and they received the cheque on 04.10.2012. But they took two months one week i.e on 10.12.2012...
