Dear Sir/Madam,
I am submitting this complaint regarding an incident that occurred on[protected] at Cinépolis India, Bangalore Meenakshi Mall, while booking movie tickets at the ticket counter.
After completing the payment, I was informed that providing my mobile number was mandatory in order to receive the ticket/bill. I clearly stated that my mobile number is personal and private information and that I did not wish to share it. However, I was told that without providing a mobile number, the bill or ticket would not be issued.
To my understanding, there is no legal requirement mandating customers to provide their mobile number for issuance of a bill. Making it compulsory appears to be an unfair practice and raises concerns regarding customer privacy.
I then requested a physical printed bill. The staff refused and stated that “as per company policy†no physical bill would be provided under any circumstances. This explanation was inconsistent, as earlier on the same day I had received a physical bill from another outlet within the same mall.
Additionally, there was a display stating that “If the bill is not received, it is free.†Despite this, the staff did not issue a proper printed bill and handled the situation in an unprofessional manner.
Following this incident, I contacted customer support and also approached the grievance cell. However, I have not received any response from either, which indicates poor grievance redressal and lack of accountability.
I am attaching relevant documents for reference.
I request:
Clarification on the policy of mandatory mobile number collection.
Explanation for refusal to issue a physical bill.
Review of staff conduct and customer handling.
Immediate response from the grievance department.
This experience was extremely disappointing. I request that this matter be reviewed seriously and appropriate corrective action be taken.
I look forward to a formal response.
