[Resolved]  Airtel Digital TV — Bad Service

I too having a Airtel DTH connection. I took it through the offer Rs.999/-. I selected south super value pack where they offered 112. I was happy that it had all the malayalam channels and one top up which i can select from the list. This list had Tamil, Kannada and Telugu. I was using it for around four months and one day i was not able to see few malayalam channels. I called up the Customer care and they said the channels which i am referring is part of malayalam top up. I could not understand and went and looked at the web site there it had 107 channels only instead of 112. I got what they did - they just removed few malayalam channels and created a new top up and says i have to pay for it. I told them that this is not what they offered me when i took this connection and how can u change it. But customer care guys were smart and says it is only having 107 channels. I got to escalate this issue to Airtel but i got it fixed twice but it goes back to the old situation again after a month. At this point i am not using it... don t waist your time with this CC guys. and all south indians go for Sun Direct where all the major channels are free... please find attached brochure where they offered me 112 channels including malayalam. Dont take airtel dth - they will change the plan or remove any channel with out any notification on your cost.

I bought the airtel digital TV on 14th Jan. Soon two persons from airtel visited my place and installed the DTH equipment and asked me to activate my account after 24 hrs. of installation. And i did the same on 15th Jan but the IVRS said the activation voucher i am using is invalid (i am 100% sure of entering correct PIN no.). So i raised a service request to the customer care service on that day itself. The customer care executive said that they'll look into the issue and resolve the issue as soon as possible and set 20th Jan as deadline to resolve the issue, he also promised that the services will not be blocked as the service request has been raised. He also took the Serial no. and PIN no. from me for reference. I believed the same and was in hope the services will not be affected. But on 18th Jan the services were blocked quoting negative balance. I tried calling customer care center many times but it returned no solution to the issue. Even now the service request is open and has not been solved. Clearly Airtel doesn't know the meaning of the word "deadline". From a customer point of view its is very simple, airtel company has received a sum of Rs 2500/- from my side and yet i am unable to get the services that i was promised. Airtel has failed completely to deliver what it had promised. Also they have no meaning for the word customer satisfaction, so i suggest my peers not to go for Airtel Digital TV as it gives u the "worst" services(worse than u can ever imagine). Tata Sky is the best in the market.

I have a airtel digital tv at my home, I want to add "ESPN PLUS" top up to my account. Which can be done only through customer care executive. But after calling in servise center the call is not transfering to customer care executive. I have tried many time in last three days but the result is same.

This is a Shame full for such a big "AIRTEL" network in India.

We have Airtel DTH set top box at my home and its not working from 20/11/2009.
My father has registered five complaints (Customer ID No: [protected] ) for this problem:

complaint nos 1575391,1571934,1589265,1607486,1610623
but there's no response from the company, they haven't send any service engg and now whenever my father try to call on toll free no. of their customer care, guess what ... most of the time they don't even pick the phone or they just cut the line.
(And this a/c has been recharged with 500/- on 3rd Dec 2009)

Airtel has the worst service and their service centers are filled with lazy people who dont even try to listen to customer complaints.

I need solution of this problem asap.

I am really having bad timings with Airtel Digital TV, I had problem with my settop box, and had reaised complaint. The customer care suggested that it will be taken care withing 24 hours. Since then its 15 days now every day I am calling to customer care and they have same answer that our engineer will visit me in a day but still it didnt got solved.

I am a part of gujarat region and custome care guy given me head of gujarat technical service number :[protected] but that number no one replies ( Not a surprise for me )...

I am so angry that want to throw out the set to box .. . and suggest every one to NEVER BUY AIRTEL DIGITAL TV
I completely empathise with you...I had a similar issue...We haven’t been receiving any reception from Airtel DG TV since 20th March, 2010. Today is the 4th day of the issue persisting. Inspite of repeated calls to Airtel's customer support team we have not been honored with a single technical support visit. In my last call to Airtel last night, Airtel's senior customer support representative has assured me that Airtel cannot promise anything least a technical support rep at the earliest nor that I will receive the reception again today from Airtel which has been very heart warming. It has reinstated the effectiveness of Airtel DG's service. I would agree with your suggestion to all of NOT subscribing to AIRTEL DIGITAL...
My name is Pragyan Behera but I am registering this complain on behalf of my father.
We have airtel DTH setbox and its remote has stopped functioning.After registering a complain in the toll free number they registered a complain and provided a local contact number on 5/6/10.The remote was replaced on 6/6/10 but after 2 days all the keys stopped working again.The remote worth Rs 150 stopped working after 2 days and then again we registerd a complain on 8/6/10.They local number and the toll free number customer service has dissappointed alot.They had misguided us and now dnt let us speak to the technician also.As per the complain it was said that the problem will be solved on 9/6/10 before 12:05pm at the afternoon.Its is so digusting that after calling for more than 20 times they are not able to communicate properly and are giving us false timing.The service is horrible and more than that they cheat.A new remote stopped functioning within 2 days.The a/c has been recharged with Rs 600.It is horrible and too poor.

I am using Airtel Digital TV. All the channels except ‘100’ are showing error code 2 with the message “the card is invalid”. My account balance is 1000+. From past 4 days i was calling the customer care those people are asking me to repeat the same steps ...remove...wipe the card ...insert and restart again . I told them that in previous calls they made me to do the same thing. No way they made repeat the same steps. After 3 calls they registered a complaint. They said the engineer will be there in 24 hrs. Since 3 days the same statement is repeating. When i ask them to connect to their supervisor their tone becomes harsh. Ridiculous service.
