[Resolved]  Airtel Digital TV — installation delay

I'm from delhi . I have purchased airtel STB on 29th dec 2008 and scheduled installation .They told me that your installation will be on 31 dec. by 11:00 AM surely, but nobody came here to me . And when i raised my complained then they told me that it will be carried out by evening of same day 31st dec, but this time also they made me fool. And now they are saying that it will be done on 2 jan 2009 but i niether believe nor intrested now and want my money refund bcoz from thier initial service i can imagine how it will go in future, it will go to worst .
Plz respond me asap.

I work in a company called Vodafone and do understand matters send through this media works really well and hence I am writing to you. Hope someone will read the mail and take some action.

I went to this Store in Patna (Aditya Vision) to buy a Airtel Digital TV ([protected]) on 24th October with my family on eve of Dhantaras. The Airtel representative explained me about the available subscription packages and I choosed one he explained to me Economy = Value + 35 channels. As per him the annual charge for the same subscription was Rs. 2000/- and I would have to pay for anything extra that I want. But little did I know I am committing a crime that I will have to pay my peace with. Thereafter started my wooes and ironies with Airtel.

I was asked to call a tollfree number to get the set installed. Same night I called up the tollfree number and they told me that they will send someone to install the set. Next day two persons from Airtel visited my home and installed the set. But due to some problem they couldn't install it properly and went back promising to visit next day again. Before leaving they gave me the shock of my life. They told me that the 2000/- that I have paid is only for the default 65 channels which didn't include my favorite channels Zee, Star Plus, Sahara One, Imagine, Aaj Tak, Zee News, O TV, ETV Oriya, Movie Channels & iNet. When I told them that I was told by the distributor that I will be getting these facilities, they told me that the same distributor has sold several sets promising false commitments to Customers. I got in touch with Airtel peoples and explained how I was cheated and requested them either to take back the handset or compensate me by giving the channels I was promised to. Local airtel officials promised me that they will look into the matter. Though more than 80 days has passed since then nothing has been done till now.

Infact, I am getting a no signal message which has been taken by deaf ears by local airtel peoples.

On 25th when the Airtel staffs left my home after installing my set, asked me to call tollfree number to recharge the voucher as the system was not working in my set top box. I called up Tollfree and recharged my account as per the instruction i received from them. But local Airtel people are saying that my account has not been recharged. Now I have simply a set top box which is simply consuming space in my home without serving any purpose thereof.

I had a lot of faith on Airtel Digital TV seeing all those ads and also after using the Airtel Connection I have been using from Airtel since last two years. Infact, even after starting of Vodafone Service in Bihar, I haven't disconnected the Corporate Connection of Airtel. Hope someone will read this mail and try atleast to resolve my wooes.

Also if someone is listening, would like to understand the escalation matrix for logging a call for any issues.
I am agreed with you. I m also facing some problem. I called up for book installation, but the fellow says there is no service in your local PIN no. I m from MUMBAI. The service is already launched in Mumbai. How can they make me fool, by saying no service in local pin no. This ridicules!!!
I have purchAsed the Airtel Digital TVconnection on 25th from the famous stores in bangaloer by the name of "Sangeethas" .. At the time of sale i was told that the cost is RS 2000 and with this the Value pacl of Rs 99 is free for five months ...and in case i want the EConomy pack for Rs 199 then i Need to pay 2500 ... The deal was 2500 and Economy pack is free for 5 months .i was given the recharge vouchers of 2000 and 500 ...

Half and hour I came home and registerted my cust ID ( [protected]) for installation i was todl tht there us no value pack exist any more and i have no choice than to opt for the NOrth Vlaue pack free for three months ...within 2500 only ... ( Ist level of harrasment ) 27th Decemebr 2008

The airtel engineers post insataltion have advised me o registered within 24 hrs at the helplin e ... Next day when I caLled up to registered to my surprise I found tht my balance on the IVR menu was -1000 ... Whn i enquired abt the same I ws told that that the Package I have chosen in 3500 with north value pack free for six months ... (2nd level of harrasment ) 6th January 2009

I lodged my complaint told them to rectify the same ... I wes told that it will be recitfied and i recived the msg for rectification too ...9th Januray2009

the limit of harrassing the customer is crossed when I got a call that my balacne iis -75 and i need to immediately recharged ..I calld up the helpline and iwas told that i have changed my packeage to 1750 and i ma being cahrged for package upgradation by rs 750... I once gain lodged the cmpalint and was told tht it will be recitified by 19th january ...2009

Today mrning (19th Jan) The complaint is yet to rectifid and they have closed down my sigansl and there is no programme on my TV

I am comlettely Harrased now and If any once can escalate the matetr or take up the same ot media

I had placed a order (Order No[protected] for relocation from Nagpur to Hyderabad on 1st March 2009. Connection disconnected from Nagpur by your Engineer on time but re-connection not happend till date.
I called minimum 20 times at Call Centre Number but not get satisfactory answer.
Call Centre had booked slot for reconnection in Hyderabad as below

In Fifth Call - No one engineer came to us for Re - Connection at Hyderabad till time.

My name is swapnil joshi.staying in virar.Yesterday i will active one package that is star cricket.my account balance is 112.00 rs.i will call the customer care & active the channel.he said i will prociding ur request after 45 min ur package is active.after one our i will start my setup box & i will shocked my all channels are blocked i don't know why.After that i will call cutomer care 4 to 5 hrs the phone is contoinus busy.that type of service how to mange customer.My cstomer id is [protected] - Rupali s. mayekar.any quries pl call me on my cell no.[protected].pl start my all channels asap.

I have faced a severe problem while recharging my account via credit card, many times I have tried it and after entering the amount >200/- It is redirecting me to customer care. I have faced the same problem via airtel website also for recharge.

Then I got a scrap cards then recharged. The requests which is raised by the customer care is NOT closed properly.

Even after recharging my account for Rs. 400/- I got shocked that I'm unable to see any channels, I called twice/thrice to customer care and they raised an complaint:850102 they told that your problem wil be resolved within two working days. After two working days the problem is still not resolved.

Again, called customer care twice and did all the troubleshooting steps what they asked me to do.

I GOT SHOCKED THAT MY EXISTING COMPLAINT (850102) HAS BEEN CANCELLED AS THE COMPLAINT IS NOT TRUE!! I'm still facing problem and I don't know what to do with this worst service and what to do further!!
Bunch of bull .. Airtel cannot do an installation within 24 hours and it takes atleast 7 days for you to get your dish and TV box. The below happens only with airtel.

You raise a complaint that your installation has not been done and they will raise a complaint for your complaint... and a complaint for another complaint.. You will be given a bunch of complaint numbers at the end of the day..
Bunch of jokers @ airtel !!! Airtel cheats you !! Sober minded people don't go for airtel !!!
OH MY GOD I SHOULD HAVE FIRST CHECK THROUGH THIS SITE BEFORE GOING IN FOR AIRTEL DIGITAL TV CONNECTION, I TOO HAVE APPLIED FOR A NEW CONNECTION BUT GETTNG THE ENGINEERS TO COME DOWN AT YOUR GIVEN TIME IS IMPOSSIBLE, AS FOR CUSTOMER CARE...THE WORST EVER...I NOW REALISE WHAT BIG MISTAKE I MADE...GUESS TATA SKY WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER...
I have purchased a LCD Tv for which I got a free airtel digital tv installation kit. I had recharged my account with 840 Rs on the customer ID [protected]. I have scheduled the installation for the sixth time yesterday. Everytime they confirm that they have activated the account with the serial number and PIN provided by me and that the installation is scheduled. But no one turns up for installation. When called back they reply saying that the account hasn't been activated and repeat the whole process. Ive patiently given them the pin and serial for the sixth time on september 30th and had installation scheduled for oct 1st at 1 pm. As usual they didnt turn up. Now after spending so much time with the airtel ccare people I have no more patience to call them up and have lost trust on airtel. Its been two months now that I purchased the tv and it is sitting idle. Ive never expected Airtel being such a big brand is tryng to fool customers.
