[Resolved]  Airtel Digital TV — Frustrated service

Dear Nodal Officer of Airtel Digital TV
I am a customer of Air Tel Digital TV.
Day before yesterday I just upgraded my standard setup box to HD+ set up box. Yesterday after noon some technicians came and installed it and gave me the assurance that the system will be activated within 1 to 2 hours. But its almost 25 hrs and the system is not yet activated. During this period, minimum 5 times I have called to the technician and each time there is one reply.”Just wait for 10 mins”.and around four times I have called to customer care people and every time there is also same response “Wait for 20 mins”. And one customer care person told …sir please wait am talking to my senior and they will calling you back .But no calls from them as of now. And the last customer care person told it will take max 48 hours…I do not understand what is the real problem.
If there are some problems in the server or somewhere then just give me the clear picture instead of telling different statements in each call. This is seriously frustrating.
If you tell me the real thing ,at least I could concentrate on other works instead of watching my setup box and tv like an owl.
Please help me.

AirTel — Digital TV service

I am an Airtel existing customer for about 8 months.
Past 7 months was really wonderful experience that too on my new full HD LG 42 inch TV.
Trouble started on the 8 month when there were intermittent outages, just convinced myself that due to intermittent rains in Chennai this was quite common.
Last week there were serious issues that it completely stopped receiving signals.
I was really patient enough to call the customer support about 8 times and explain them the problem right from the scratch.
I hope call centres can see the history of my problem but everytime I had to explain all over again to them and a tech engineer was supposed to come every next day I called them and still I am expecting him, I can rightly call him Mr. X 007 as the call centre person cannot give the name / number or even the airtel office location from where he is supposed to come.

I have an Airtel broadband / Airtel landline / Airtel mobile and I do promote Airtel to my friends and relatives but now have to rethink on recommendations I make.

Now that Analogue services will cease to exist by 2015, I would request to management to define SLA's to meet for the techs and retain customer to have a better market share.

At this point of time, I am also looking if the management see my concern and address it.

AIRTEL DTH HD — Frustrated with Airtel DTH

I bought a LG LCD TV on the 5th of September. With the TV, i got a voucher for AIRTEL DTH HD which said that i will get a free set top box. I followed all the necessary guidelines and finally the airtel guys told me that my installation will take place in the next 48 hours.Its been 7 days i havent received anything from their side.
On communicating with them, they said i have not activated my account which i did 7 days back.
Now they tell me that the offer is over and they cant help me.How will a customer know that? I was told that my services have been activated n they will come n install it in the next 2 days.They also gave me my order number which is a proof in itself that they have dispatched my installating kit. I was relaxed and waiting for some good HD experience until i face this situation.
I am terribly disaappointed with the service.The customer support team lacks dedication and have no product knowledge.They hang up on u at times and give u misleading information.

I am in a lot of problem with this as i have discontinued my cable settop box and paid 750 rupees for airtel recharge.Now i will lose my connection on first and airtel will have to compensate me for the loss of money and time and pressure that i have faced.

I am considering a legal action against airtel with media support if they dont solve my problems in the next 3 days.

Airtel DTH — Frustrated with Airtel DTH

My DTH account id is [protected]. My STB stopped working since last saturday. I made a complaint through customer care. Since no one turned up, I repeated the the same exercise four times. Every time the customer care executive assured me that my problem will be resolved within 24 hours, once I even talked to their supervisor, he put me on hold for more than half an hour and he was claiming that he was contacting the bangalore area manger and assured me my issue will be resolved very soon.Today, morning the so called engineer surfaced but he went back saying he doesn't have spares and he will be back within an hour, even after 8 hours he hasn't turned up and when I tried his mob number obviously he was not picking the call. In between I also got a message saying your issue has been resolved and if still not resolved please call[protected]always busy or otherwise no answer!!!). These guys are making a complete mockery of the system. Do this company has some responsible people working for them? Does the upper management aware of all these things? I am really frustrated with Airtel DTH...
I had a similar problem, i.e. the STB just stopped working. I'd suggest that you be a little patient. I informed Airtel of the non-functioning set top box in the first week of April. Weeks of follow-up and no response. Perfect, as they already have your money in advance.

Nevertheless, I just got a call from Airtel telling me that they can replace the set top box and it’ll cost me Rs. 350/= plus Rs. 100/= as visiting charges! This guy was out-rightly threatening me to continue with the services, else there will be a *RECOVERY*. I asked him whether the agreement at the time of taking the connection stated that the set top box etc. was on "lease" and belonged to Airtel. To which he replied, ’’NO, but aisa hi hota hai’’. I further asked him whether he was calling from the support division or the extortion division to which he hung up without saying anything.

Furthermore, they refused to return the money lying in my account.

AirTel — Frustrated by Airtel!!!!!!

Hi my name is Mohammed Matheen and my mobile number is [protected] i dont know what happened with this service i am unable to make out going calls nor text messages i am gettin an recorded message as your out going calls are barred. Why the hell airtel troubles there customers again and again they want us to submit our application in every 2 or 3 months and they are deducting balance from account unwantedly as there wish i just want them to release my number and release my out going calls cause i have to contact my clients and its my official number i cant go to airtel outlet because i dont have time. Compare to airtel that new service uninor which came into recently they are better than them i request to release my out going calls facility As soon as possible.
