[Resolved]  Airtel DSL (Bharti Airtel Limited) — This is a complaint against Airtel DSL Sales & Billing.

I applied for an Airtel DSL connection sometime in the month of April 2010, I received a call & an executive (Name: Yogesh) came down to my place (BTM Layout 2nd stage) to fill the application & collect the advance (Installation charges). I filled in the form duly, selected the monthly rental, provided him with a post dated cheque of Rs. 1794.00 (cheque dated May 10th 2010). Yogesh advised that a post dated will not be accepted. I told him that i dont have sufficint funds right now & can make the payment only on May 10th 2010, & so if he can come later & provide the application on a later date & also collect the amount on the same date. But, Yogesh called his manager, checked with him & got back to me saying that it is ok if I give him a post dated cheque & he will still go ahead with the application & connection.

All went well that day. The very next day another person from Airtel came down (Manjunath) along with Airtel landline device, modem & other devices. He fixed everything & got the connection up & running. HE called Airtel Customer Care & other departments to setup the connection & billing.

On the 4th or 5th of May 2010, I got a call from Airtel Customer Service that my cheque for Rs. 1794.00 has bounced. I was totally surprised as it was just May 4th or 5th & my cheque had a date of May 10th 2010. I questioned the customer care executive as to when did they produce my cheque? And the executive replied that the cheque was produced on April 20th 2010 (the day i got my connection). I was furios & also confused as to why a company like Airtel do such a uneducated thing like producing the cheque before the cheque date & on top of that customer care questioning me for not making the payment.
They didnt seem to realize nor did they bother check what the issue was. They just kept on accusing me of not making the payment which was absurd & inhuman.

From then on I was constanty in touch with the customer care & the billing department trying to prove myself innocent & trying to explain the most illiterate employees of Airtel as to what the issue was. I received my May 2010 bill which had this amount (Rs. 1794.00) mentioned as 'other charges' & service charges/taxes being applied towards that. I didnt know how to react to this stupidity. First of all it was not my fault & now i'm being penalised for no fault of mine. I again called Airtel refused to pay anything till the matter was sorted.

Finally, the billing department agreed it was indeed their fault & agreed to clear the advance amount of Rs. 1794.00 from my bill (May bill). I paid the remaining bill amount of Rs. 1723.37 on June 1st 2010.

I though all was sorted out. But i was wrong. My outgoing calls have been barred & the reason being non-payment. Again the billing department failed to notice that i have made my payment but it is their fault that they have not cleared the previous other charges as promised & comitted. I again have double the amount to pay & unnecessary charges being added on.

This is just a menace. I have spoken to numerous executives starting form Priyadarshini, Saritha, (A supervisor by name Bhargav promised to sort this issue & call me back, but its been more than 48 hours now & no call back), mohammed (who was really rude).

Airtel has made it clear that they are bothered about just their money. I incurred cheque bounce charges because of them & not at all bothered.

I request you to please take note of this issue very seriously & assist me in getting this sorted out.
I would be greatful if this menace ends as soon as possible.

Bharti Airtel — Regarding Cheque bounce

Our company had payment Bharti Airtel the amount of Rs. 703/- of airtel bill through cheque (700480) of HDFC bank. Which has to be cleared from HDFC bank but it is cleared from the ICICI bank.
Since our company is private limited so cheque bounce will make affect.
Kindly look into this matter.
