Airtel GPRS — Improper billing for GPRS service by Airtel - Need Inputs

I have activated Airtel’s Net on Phone (NOP) service on my mobile since last month. I have been told that this includes 150 monthly rental with no charge for surfing and downloading except Airtel Live. At the end of month, I am charged with all the surfing I did on the Kbyte basis and billed around 4000.

When inquired, they are saying that access was done thro Airtel Live (WAP_ALL) service and not thro NOP (AirtelWap). I, as an end user won’t understand which service is used to connect internet in background and why NOP is not used (It’s selected by default in my cell). According to them, Airtel Live comes on title bar when accessed but I cant see anything like that in Opera mini or my default browser.

This is a straight case of cheat and I am completely confused what to do next as I even contacted Nodal officer without fruitful results.

Any inputs will be appreciated.

Newly 50 paise per minute charging if we want to speak to customer care.

I am now facing the same problem with Airtel . My GPRS charges never exceeded 150 Rs. per month for the last one year . This month it has come Rs. 3634 and is itemised under WAP_ALL. I have approached Cusromer care Executives as also Nodal Officer of Airtel about the details . They only say it is loaded thru my mobile and that is all they can say and no other information can be given. I do not accept this as no service provider can have this attitude. They have to bill us correct and fair. Amazingly Airtel is charging us to talk to their customer care Executive for the problem created by them . These kind of business group can survive here in our country only - hopefully not long..

Even i have the same problem my bill was too high last month &i dont get proper reply from customer care too...i have decided to disconnect my Airtel connection & since its a cooperate connection, i will have my team disconnect that too...by tomorrow...

For detailes on what they do. Why they are enabling Airtel Live as default though you have GPRS service enabled - minting business.

Even I too have same issue. I have been using GPRS Rs. 98/ for the last 7-8 months. I have separate icons " Airtel Live" and "Web" on my Nokia set.
I usually connect internet thru "Web" never used "airtel live" yet I got bill as I have used Airtel live. I checked with customer care aske for waiver else I am planning to file complain on consumer complaint portal.

same problem is with my bill. it has charge me 859.20 rupees under wap_all. when i contacted customer care it kept me busy 4 more than 25 minutes without any information.
airtel has done the same to me.they charged 1146 rupees for internet usage although i had got 2gb plan.the customer care exe told me i have used airtel live as access point.i know it is almost use less to write this all here but at least now i know that i am not alone.
i have the same problem too... called CC and dint get any help :( they changed me 700 just for wap_all ) my reg mob bill never crossed 600-700 and only internet is 700 now .. can some one from Airtel do something about this
