I DID MY BACHELORS DEGREE FROM ALAGAPPA UNIVERSITY, TAMILNADU THROUGH DISTANCE . I CAME TO KNOW THAT THE INDIAN UNIVERSITIES WHICH OFFER DISTANCE EDUCATION PROGRAMS SHOULD TAKE PERMISSION FROM " DISTANCE EDUCATION COUNCIL(DEC), NEW DELHI " BEFORE STATING THEIR COURSES, WITHOUT WHICH DEGREE'S OFFERED BY SUCH UNIVERSITIES ARE NOT VALID . HENCE UNIVERSITIES IN INDIA HAS TO TAKE PERMISSION FROM DEC AND IT IS MANDATORY FOR UNIVERSITIES IN INDIA GIVING DISTANCE EDUCATION COURSES . PLEASE CHECK ( WEBSITE : www.dec.ac.in ) for more information . Alagappa University has not bothered to take " POST-FACTO Recognition " from Distance Education Council (DEC) for Degrees/Diploma's awarded prior to[protected] Academic Year (Year of provisional Recognition and Year from which Recognition Applied for).

DEC Should give all Universities " POST-FACTO Recognition" to Degrees/Diploma Awarded once Recognition is sought by the University without Universities asking for same " for relief to Past Students as clearly mentioned on its own website ".
