[Resolved]  Tata Aig — Cancellation of Health Policy HCP[protected]

On 27.03.2009 I received a call from TATA AIG, caller name Mr. Amit, for renewal of the Health Policy HCP[protected] in name of my wife Ms. Banani Sarkar. After a detail conversation I decided to convert the said policy into family policy, for my wife Ms. Banani Sarkar(32+), myself Prabir Kumar Sarkar(42+) and my son Master Swayambhu Sarkar(2+); for a premium of Rs.4669.00 and the payment will be made through credit card (CITI Bank) in 9 EMI with 0% interest. After that I got another call for verification & payment, caller name Mr. Abhishek, after verification details he demanded the CITI Bank Credit Card No. and then the CVV No. to convert the premium amount into 9 EMI. When I refuse to tell him the CVV No., he told me to contact the bank for EMI. When I contacted the bank they told me the EMI will be with 2% interest.

Very next day on 28.03.2009, I decided not to continue the policy and mail to customer care department for cancellation of the said policy. On 01.04.2009 I got an e-mail from Ms. Soni Jha, customer support officer, as a receiving confirmation of my mail with the information to forwarding my request to relevent department. She took 3 days to reply. But, till 09.04.2009 nobody from TATA AIG contact me. On 07.04.2009, I sent another mail to enquire about the cancellation of the said policy. On 10.04.2009, I received almost the same reply from Ms. Soni Jha as she sent in earlier mail. In between I also booked my request to cancell the said policy over phone and I was given the Request No. 5984680. Also I received the policy paper.

On 13.04.2009 around 17:06 Hrs., I called TATA AIG ( Ph. No. [protected]) and Told my Request No. 5984680, my call was forwarded to Cancellation Department. I was attended by Mr. Manish. He tried his best to convince me to continue the said policy, but I was not mould and told him to do the necessary to cancell the said policy. He informed me that the premium amount will be refunded after deducting 25% because it was 14 days over, I agreed. But, now the question is when within 24 Hours I informed TATA AIG to cancell the said policy, why not they take action on time ? Why after crossing of 14 days they are taking action regarding the cancellation ? Though, I agreed for the deduction but is it my fault to loose the 25% of the premium amount ? Or it is the company policy to earn money from the customer by this way. May I get back the entire amount ?

More interestingly, today 16.04.2009 I get a SMS from TATA AIG that Rs.1112.00 will be refunded within 7 days against the cancellation of the policy HCP[protected], whreas the amount should be Rs.3502.00. When I contact in the same phone no., the attendent executive who's name is also Manish told me that in their record the premium amount shows only Rs.1482.00 instead of Rs.4669.00 for that the reundable amount is Rs.1112.00 whereas the amount Rs.4669.00 already debited from my credit card (CITI Bank) A/c.

What I have to do now ? May I get the actual amount refunded ?

My name is Vinod Kumar, Jodhpur(raj) & I was cheat by Tata Aig General Insurace. In the month of March i received a call from mumbai tata aig online insurance service from Sen. Exe, Miss Rekha & Vidhya. I agree with the Health Policy which they have told me, then i sent a Cheque through DTDC courier, POD no is F04865898. They told me when the cheque is debited then you will be receiving ur policy through blue dart courier within in 7 days. My cheque is debited on 20th march 2010 & still i did not get my policy. Plz tell me what should i do now. becoz i was harrashed by this incident. plz do the needful,
