I had applied for a loan in DHFL 3 months back @ their Rajajinagar, Bangalore office .. As the apartment builder has tie ups only with DHFL and IndiaBulls, I had no other option. At the time of application they said 11.25% as interest rate .. Once the application was processed, they called and informed me that interest rate is 12%!!!!! I blasted the executive like anything (using swear words too!!! ) and warned them if they use the processing fee cheque .. within an hour some person called and apologized to me and said the interest rate will be 11.25 and there was some confusion .. I m damn sure this was their plan to get higher interest rate from some foolish person ... next day I went to their office to sign all the documents ..they has tie up with ICICI for home loan insurance .. I was ok with at as the same will cover the outstanding in case of death .. then to my horror, their executive (Ranjith Asthana, looks like a villain sidekick of a b-grade movie) was asking me to buy one more insurance (it was ICICI ULIP) and he was saying this is compulsory. I blasted him again and he was saying loan cant be processed .. I shouted at him as loud as I can and some higher up came and calmed me down and said he will waive off this clause for me (waive off!!! my foot) ... so be sure not to fall into their trap. Executives want to earn some commission thru their bank customers .. Totally unprofessional attitude from DHFL. On top of that, next day Ranjith called me again insisting to buy some smaller amount ULIP (pleading with me with "Sir le lo na"!!!) .. I asked him to join some call centre instead .. these guys are totally shameless ... Atlast I had to call their Mumbai office and they sanctioned the loan in 15 days ..
