I agree. I had applied for this policy in the month of November. In December they sent a request for Medical and went totally silent post that. In January when I called them up to enquire about the policy, they again started asking whether medicals were done and other irrelevant questions. After repeated enquiries both to the sales manager and customer care, I eventually asked for a cancellation on 22nd Feb, to which they responded that I need to go to a branch and fill a form for cancellation. When I visited the branch on 24th, I was told policy is already cancelled on 6th Feb. and cheque for my payment is lying in Ashok Vihar, New Delhi branch and I need to collect the same from there only. (funny, but the sales manager still says I have now forwarded your request for cancellation and you would receive the refund in next 15 working days, while the stipulated time as per IRDA norms is 10 days). Would surely advise all to stay away from HDFC Life. A company which takes so much time to issue a policy or refund, wwould definately not payback at the time of any mishappening.

Guys, I share the same pain with HDFC. I paid for my insurance on 16th of January and I am yet to receive my policy document, despite more than 15 complain calls with HDFC call center. Now I want to opt out and struggling.My Application number - S[protected]
it is very pathetic, they ask for the same document again and again. Even worse, they will send a mail asking to fill in attach questionnaire, but there won't be any questionnaire attached. When we call customer care, they would say, we will forward the questionnaire to mail id, after that there won't be any action. Now i have got a post envelope delivered to me asking for document and to fill in the attached questionnaire, to my horror, even there i don't see the questionnaire...
I would not recommend this policy and company to any body. With this type of service, It would be wise not to fight and get the policy issues, as i am sure, this policy would not be useful to our family, when they actually need it.
