[Resolved]  HSBC Bank Credit Card — Harassing The Credit Card Owner After Settling The Payment Through Recovery Agency

Hello Sir/Madam,

I am Mr. Mangesh Shingare & my HSBC Card No. is 4476 xxxx xxxx 1915.
I m using this card for last 2 years or more.

I was regular payer of the bills of my all cards including ICICI, & HDFC also which i am using till now.

I had not received the bill statement for HSBC since November 2008.

After that neither I used this card nor I received a bill statement for the same.

Then I got call from payment recovery agency of HSBC bank on 2nd weeks of November 2009 when I was in Delhi.

That lady from the payment recovering agency told me that my payment of HSBC bank is pending for past one year.

She also had a track of my HDFC card payment. She found that my HDFC payment is going regularly but HSBC payment was due for one year.

I told her that I have not received the bills. Moreover I have not use this card for more than 12 months.

I check my details of that particular month from her. I came to know that Rs.1800.00
was pending in the month of November 2008 as the final installment of insurance policy of TATA AIG.

Then she offered me a the settlement of this card at the payment of Rs. 2,525.00.
As I was in delhi, it was not possible to collect letter from her.
I asked her to send the SMS confirmation that my card due will be Nil & card will activated if I will make a payment of Rs. 2525.00 for this card.

She sent me SMS & I asked my office assistance to make the payment of Rs. 2525.00 to HSBC bank. I have done the payment on 15th November 09 & which got credited to HSBC bank on 18th November 2009.

One month after the payment, I started receiving call from HSBC call centre for minimum payment due. I called the payment recover agency & concerned person told me that in the next month my card will be settled to nil as my december month bill was generated on 16th November 09 (My payment of Rs. 2525 was credited on 18th November).

I was waiting for the same. After a one month, there was no change in my card bill statement.

Customer care person of HSBC keep on calling me every day. I sent them all details.

I have given them the phone no of that agency & cell nos. of that concern person.
But, HSBC customer care officer told me that they can't consider this as settlement as I don't have any letter from HSBC.

Now, I need following clarifications from bank:
a. I don't have letter, but I have SMS from the cell no of payment recovery agency. HSBC officers are calling everyday. But why can't they make a single call to the agency to whom they have given authority to follow up with the people to collect the payment?

b. After 1st January 10, these bank officers are calling me every day. But why was there no phone call or payment reminder on my cell from December 2008 to December 2009. Are they waiting for reach late fee & finance charges to Rs. 6000.00?

c. Is it the new way to cheat the customer? 1st of all don't deliver the bills to that address for many month. Then make settlement through the agency with false promises. After that harass the customer on technical reason & ask them for one more settlement?

I even told them that if I had to cheat them then I would have spent Rs. 25000.00 & not just Rs. 1,800.00.

I have sent nos of email to HSBC customer care & HSBC nodal officer. But there was no proper reply from them.

Today also I phoned the agency before writing this mail. But that lady was on leave for the day. Her colleague told that the card will be settled if I have paid the amount told by her.

What are the legal procedure I should follow?
To whom I should sent the notice?

Kindly sent your suggestion or advice.

Regards,
Mangesh Shingare

hsbc, credit card — harresing the customer

I had an HSBC card no[protected],which was forced on me by hsbc officials, which i was reluctant to use ,but i kept it unused for 3 yrs as it was free of any charges. Then i starting using it though not as my primary card. The dues were always paid on time. The bank was supposedly happy with my timely payment and subsequently upgraded my card to a platinum card. My last transaction was Rs.83,409.58p,which as usual i paid on time but the bank some how charged me late fee and some other charges. On grounds of principal, i refused to pay as i was not at fault.I tried speaking to bank officals who were very rude to me and refused to hear me out. Now the tables have turned. They have accumulated the interest charges which have mounted upto Rs.10,000 for surely no error of mine. Now i am not interested in hearing them . Their incessant calls are harressing me as i refuse to narrate their inefficiency repeatedly to each of their officials. This situation has been created by them and they themselves need to rectify it. Why are they calling me ? Please help.
Sir, I have cancelled two hsbc cards recently, details being [protected] & [protected].After getting my transfer from Delhi to Cochin, immediately I, ve contacted cus.care and informed the change of address.Still I was not getting statements on time.It will reach me via Delhi and that too by the time it reaches me, late fee must have been due.As a result I had to waste lot of money. Finally I contacted the Bank and requested for closure of the cards.Still I, m getting lot of phone calls, may be from your collection people, but it has really become a nuisance to me in answering those calls.Kindly give instructions to all concerned that these cards have been closed and importantly send me your closure letter. Now only one card remains [protected] that also I would like to close.Pl give me a closure letter.Already I have paid huge amounts towards late fee.So kindly wave off those late fees and give a final amount so that I can close in one shot.Thanks.
Regards,
A.Shekhar (Mob : [protected]).

Please allow me to introduce myself my name is Michael Mason-Mahon and I am a shareholder of HSBC Plc. I am based in London yet I am a very regular visitor to India.

At HSBC Annual General Meeting of Shareholders 2010 I did address my concerns with the Board of Directors concerning what HSBC India has been doing and is doing in India to our customers.

I may be able to help you. I can assure you that I will do all that I can to help you. I have been very successful in the people that I have taken up their cases with HSBC. Now they will not let me help anymore Indian's. You may wonder why, ask the Chairman of HSBC Plc Mr Flint why.

Please go to this site. This is an interview that I did concerning HSBC.

If customers UNITE in India and decide to leave HSBC India in support of their fellow Indian's, who are making complaints about HSBC India then this may make HSBC Plc take action.
They talk about their Global Footprint and their Integrity. Please look at the following sites and see what the Indian people are saying about HSBC behaviour towards them.
