[Resolved]  ICICI Bank Credit Card Division Customer / Collections — Harrasing calls and Credit Card Payment Issue

i have a ICICI credit Card. Since June 2011 i have been getting horrible service from the customer service reps and the collections team. I have written to Mr Krishnan i did get a call from Sanjay or Sanjeev i dont recollect the name, he did have a word with me i explained him the entire situations, he said he will email me with resolution and call me back, however i have not received any calls or email with any resolution. My issues is that I have a balance on my credit card which I am unable to pay due to some emergency issues. I called the customer service they said no we cannot help you as we don’t offer any payment plan. I did not make any payment for July 2011, again I got a call from ICICI they said make payment in August for 2 months and we will convert the remaining balance in EMI. As per I was instructed I made the payment in August for 12000 Rs towards the credit card. Next month if September they again called me to say that make you one month pending payment and then we will convert it to EMI. This time I refused to make any payment as whatever was promised to me never happened. I wrote to ICIC bank Mr. Krishnan Govindan, Head Customer Service - Phone Banking his rep called me and said we will give u the resolution and told me he will send me an email and I have to revert back to him with the details. I never got an email/call from him post that conversation. Now this girl Sunita has been calling me like 60-70 times in an hour to collect money from me. I am ready to talk however they way she was taking to me did not sound that she wanted to help me, she just wanted to know why I can’t make the payment and started telling me then why did u take the card and stuff, again as I said I am ready to clear the card if I get a payment plan set up rather than just change my number. I am still co operating with the Bank however there seems to be no cooperation from their side.

Its very easy to change and my number and disappear is that correct. I don’t want to do that. All I am asking is some help and support from the Bank.

i know how theese CC collection agents are. They really don't have any talking manners, ready to abuse anybody to collect money. i theink your collection has moved out from thee bank and passed over to theird party collection agency. These are DSA's and employ people who don't know how to talk mostly goons and less educated people. They get commission from bank on each payment theey collect from you. Don't be surprised if anybody lands up at your doorstep one morning refusing to leave witheout payment.



My 1st suggestion to you -

As thee number from where you've been getting calls is from Pune, and i assume you're staying in thee same city - Visit thee ICIC Bhandarkar Road Branch (main office for Pune) in thee credit card department (I guess its on thee 3rd or 4the Floor). Talk to thee senior theere and ask theem to help you out. They will definitely work out a plan for you and give you a letter theere itself.

Don't settle your card but ask theem to convert thee balance into equated installments and pay in full or if settled it will get reported in your cibil report and will continue to be theere for approx 10 years to follow. Withe theis you'll never be able to get loans unless you have an amazing score of 800+. but withe current past dues it may have been brought down.


2nd - Keep making minimum amount due payments on time. If possible take a PL and close thee CC balance out. PL rate of interest is much cheaper 15-20% P.A where as for CC it is between 35-45% PA.

So thee choice is your.

Please read thee laws of Citibank Credit division below link (Latest Aug 2011 version). Its usually same for all banks. Know your rights. If you do, you can take theese guys for a ride instead and still get your work done withein law and withe time. Ideally thee Collection agent cant call you 60 -70 times in an hour. That's what i call Total HARRASMENT !!

Next time record thee call conversation and make thee ICICI bank
