I also have the same problem with ICICI. OTP is a ridiculous feature if not enables for mobile number of customers choice or option of receiving it on registered email id. I travel for Business trips frequently, and might be away for say 6-8 months a year, does this mean I would not be able to do Internet transactions. Will ICICI bank for enabling International roaming on my India mobile? Why is this concept so difficult for ICICI to understand?

I am having the same problem.I recently moved to Mexico and my India number is no more active.Due to the reason of not being able to access OTP on my mobile, I am not able to do any transaction on my ICICI account.

How do i resolve this problem?

I am also pissed off with this feature. There is no way to get the mobile number updated for such customers.
I am using ICICI from last 10 years, and now it is becoming a pain each time i try to make a payment.

I think SBI sends OTP to the international mobile numbers. I don't understand why ICICI can't do the same. If ICICI can't provide this feature in next few weeks, I will be moving to SBI.

I am not able to transfer money since I am in Brazil for a month. I have to pay loan emi.

I'm also facing the same problem with ICICI Internet banking. I got very poor and disgusting response from ICICI customer care and they care damn with the customer.
It is not getting delivered even though international roaming is activated. I have activated international roaming only for the sake of OTP which is of no use.

Every time I have to make calls to customer care for the OTP and they are least bothered of the concern of the customers.

Not sure who made this process very stringent, more than security it is causing lot of inconvenience to me.

When the OTP can be sent to the registered mobile number, why not to the registered email id.

I expect a positive response and resolution from the bank.

There is no point in writing to the [protected]@icicibank.com. They will ask you to fill in a form with your new mobile number and provide proof of residency like, Passport, Green Card, US License etc. Once this is send they will get back telling that the signature does not match the records and the number cannot be updated. This is the standard. I tried this for myself and my wife and we both got the same response.

I wasted nearly $66 each on courier charges to send the documents and lots of additional money speaking to some senseless customer service representatives and supervisors. They also claim that I am a privilege customer. I am not sure if harassing a customer is what they mean by being a privilege customer. The moment I am back in India, I am planning to remove all my money out of this bank and place it in some other bank that is more customer friendly.

If we feel safe about our money being in the bank then it is fine. But everywhere you search in the Internet, there are several articles around fraud at ICICI bank. I am not sure which other bank across the world considers the Mobile Number and the most sacred number when it comes to a bank account. Pray to god to give some sense to the chief security officer of this organization. Based on my experience I feel the person who is on top implementing all these awful security practices is the most senseless person I have ever seen.

I am in USA currently and facing the same problem. I spoke with customer care and filled the form they mentioned and signed and sent it address they mentioned. After all this pain I get a sweet email saying my signature doesn't match and my request is rejected. I have done this 3 times and all 3 times I got the same response.

I am on a short trip abroad and have my prepaid phone with me. I face the same problem. ICICI bank customer care is so inefficient. I called them twice they said i will get the OTP but nothing.

I too face the same problem, and hate these so called corporate banks ICICI and HDFC ... "CITIBANK India" doesn't have these problems and we can updates all our details as required, but the only issues is very high minimum balance.

I'm Sandeep Vijayakumar. I'm currently in Australia. I had sent the request letter along with the passport copy for updating my australian number in ICICI bank for OTP. The courier has been delivered to destination on May 27th. I was told that it will be updated in 2 working days after receiving the letter. It is been 2 weeks and still not updated.

Also attached proof of courier status.

Its depressing to see that customers at international locations were not thought of when implementing OTP. Please somebody help me to get my US phone number updated or suggest a way to go about getting it updated.

I have had this account for past 15 years. I hold home loans, life insurances with ICICI.
Now I am thinking of closing my account if there is a way. This is how ICICI behaves with customer with such a long relationship. Shame on you ICICI. This is just frustrating and ridiculous. I called several numbers on 24 hour customer care. I could not speak to a customer care person.

I am facing the same issue. I have sent a request letter with my US number as the Customer Care asked me to. I received an email from Customer Service as below.
Your Request for Mobile banking registration request for XXXX has been processed on 15-MAY-15.

However, when I checked online, still my old Indian number is linked to Mobile Banking. I have my salary account with this bank for the last 9 years. It looks like Axis bank gives an RSA token for such cases. This is really frustrating. This time when I come to India i have to close my account and move it to any other bank.
