[Resolved]  India Today Book Club — Not able to avail the holiday voucher package promised by them

They are not able to acitivate my membership no/web id for last one month. It seems they are cheating. Nither their email not their call center are helpful.

This seems to be the biggest fraud happening in the country for past 1-2 years. Under a big brand name and with very convincing marketing technics, they are looting the public.
I placed an order for 16 music CD collection one year back for which Rs.800 was debited to my credit card as 1st instalment. I have taken up the matter multiple times and everytime, they keep on telling one or the other reason. They had even given me the consignment number twice confirming that the parcel has been already depatched. Now after one year, as reply to my enquiry, they have sent an apology stating that my order was not processed due to some technical problems.
And they are not even ready to cancel the order and refund the money though I requested many times.

I booked for an India Today Book Club Offer in which I was to receive a set of 12 books and a holiday package. It costed me Rs 2598. The money was immediately debited to my credit card on 26th March 2009. Today is 4th Aug 2009, I have heard nothing from them. I called them twice in between and they assured that the goods will be reaching me in no time. I HAVE BEEN ROBED AND CHEATED. Can something be done about it?

I want to cancel my order for reebok summer kit

i purchased this holiday package for 2 nites 3 days with to n fro air tickets for 2 adults n 1 child for Rs.2500..in return i got a bundle o[censored]seless books without any holiday package.i had purchased 2 of these packages.u people better do sumtin else u will b in deep trouble.

i too did not receive the free gifts also the free gifts were sent to me as products ordered it is a dishonour of faith on india today.

I purchased set of seven DVDs of Aghatha Cristie but have not received the free gift. In case this your commitment to the customers that you promise for a lucrative free giftand send only the product and ask the customers to keep mailing their complaints then I am sorry to have associated with you and I promise not to purchase any thing in future. But for once please send me the reebok sunglasses to me. My membership No is ITBC08759183 and the Invoice No is ORA[protected]. CAN I EXPECT A POSSIBLE REPLY FROM YOU.

India Today Book Club — Holiday Voucher and bogus website

I received a package on 11.8.09 after a half an hour telesales talk on 7.8.2009 where the teleseller was smart enough to con me to buy a set of books for Rs.2598 and that this was a unique promotion only for a few and a free holiday for two for good measure. On calling up the give telephone lines[protected], either you get a waiting response and no one comes on line. The web site for claiming gifts/vouchers/holday package seems to be bogus as any number you enter the response comes out as incorrect.

India Today book club is also called A CHEATER AND LIER CLUB.

INDIA BOOK CLUB MEANS ''THIVES BEHINDS THE BOOKS&KALYUG KA LALCHI BOOK WARM.

I ordered a pack of 4 books from them for 499. To start with they sent 3 packs containing the same books asking for 1500 bucks which obviously i refused to pay! I paid 499 and took delivery of one pack. There was no Bloody reebok watch they said will be a part of it and the quality of paper used for the books is pathetic as if they are photocopies!!!
Please Avoid !!!

i feel INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB IS NUMBER ONE FRAUDE, AS THEY DOT DESPATCH THE FREE GIFT COUPANS AND INSTEAD THEY ASK ME TO ENTERUNIQUE NUMBER AND THE URL www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm, WHEN EVER WE CORRECTLY ENTER THE UNIQUE NO AND THE E-MAIL ID, IT ALLWAYS SAYS INCORRECT INFERMATION.
I THINK INDIA TODAY CLUB, WANTENLY DOING IT TO AVODE GIVING GIFT VOUCHER.
IT IS A ABIG FRAUDE COMPANY, AS IT IS LOOKS

I paid Rs.2598 for an offer holiday pack for two nights and three days of which received only books set.
I am unable to find some unique number to fill in the form to avail the voucher...
Kindly help me in this.

India Today Book Club — Offer Promised on the phone and mail was never given appropriately

Hi,
I got a call from India Today Book Club to take a 12 Books pack + Holiday package + Return Air Fare for two. I asked them again and again if they have any different conditions and hidden costs thereafter, but I was told that there is no charges at all except Rs.2598, which I was supoosed to pay that time by credit card, on phone only by entering my credit card number and CVV2 number. The interface was not human and offer was looking attractive so I took the offer.
I also reffered them to one of my friend, when they asked me for one reference and unfortunately he also took the offer.
I was told that I can go for the holiday, just after getting the Invoice, followed by registering online. Also it was told that I can utilise the Air facility with the holiday package at the same time, by just giving a notice of 4 days in Advance. But.......
When I actually got the offer and saw the details, I was totally shocked, they have all the conditions (to inform in 45 days advance, Rs.800 extra for the holiday package etc.)
ITBC cheated me and now I need your help and suggestion. If I dont get any responce, I will definately take whatever Legal action I can by myself.
I wont let them go by any means. If some one has a similar experience and can guide me how to tackle this one venture of so called Best Media House of India, please let me know.

Hi I too took an offer of CDs pack worth around 2800rs with which i was promised of holiday pack but it never arrived.When i contacted them they simply are apolozizing and asking me to go for next offer so i can get the offer.I straight away told them that i no more believe them and enough is enough.

Dont let them escape. go to consumer forum. tedious job but help urself and also to consumers.
