[Resolved] Indian Railways — Refusal to refund money after downgrading to 3rd Class AC | |
I took a 2nd Class AC ticket on North East Express (Train no 2505) going from Guwahati to Allahabad on the 11th of October, 2008. My ticket number is 64387164 and PNR number is[protected]. I paid Rs.1466 for the ticket. Due to some problems, my ticket was downgraded to 3rd Class AC. The ticket collector told me to get a refund from Allahabad station. On 22nd October, I went to Allahabad station to get a refund for the ticket (the difference of the cost between the 2nd class and 3rd class ticket). I went to the booking counter and they told me to go to the reservation counter. After waiting in line for over an hour, I was told by the person in the reservation counter to go to another booking office. I then went to the office and the person told me to meet someone in another booking counter. The guy inside that counter told us to go to reservation counter. I stood in line for a long time and when I finally got to the front, I was told to go to yet another counter. I then went and stood in line for a long time and when I finally got to the front, the person told me to go to the booking counter where I had previously gone. The person told me that he will not refund me the money because I was too late and should have gone earlier. I got fed up at this point and went home. Are they telling me the truth or just trying to frustrate me? What should I do to get my money back? Was this information helpful? | |
