Sir, My wife and two children travelled in 3AC in Kanyakumari-Howra Expresson[protected] from Madurai to Visakhapatnam. The ticket was released under EQ quota. (So identity is automatically proved). The ticket was purchased in February through Railway counter. My wife carried colour xeroxed laminated copy of ID. But the Squad people refused to accept her identity and levied penalty for three passengers. It is not understandable, when the rules mandate carrying of ID for one passenger, the fine is levied for three passengers. The purpose of rule is to avoid impersanation/Exchange of tickets. When the ticket is released under EQ, where is the question of exchange of tickets. How can one refuse colour xeroxed id, when the original of the same is issued by Government of India. The "original id" should be understood as "Not a fake ID". Hence the Copy of original ID should also be treated as the Original ID. Can anybody help me to get refund of the excess amount collected.
