Indian Railways — Wait listed tickets | |
Dear sir, when one reserves a ticket online it gets cancelled automatically case it is a wait listed ticket and has not been confirmed. However, in case of a ticket bought from the counter the maximum time available for the consumer is 12 hrs. There after no money is returned on the ticket in spite of the fact that the Indian Railways has not provided any service to the consumer. This practice is also flawed keeping in mind the fact that there is no alternative with the consumer owing to the monopoly of the company in the field. Sir, if I have bought a ticket three months in advance and the same has not been cleared the company already has earned interest on my money for the period. However they have no right of not returning my money just because I got late in asking it back. What does the Indian railway charge for when there has been no service provided. This is a harassing practice and does not hold any merit. The same may be stopped with and if a ticket has not been used the consumer should be able to refund it any time.
