[Resolved]  Indiatodaybookclub Free Offers — receipt of free gifts

I HAVE BEEN CHEATED BY INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB TOO…

They have promised me one thing and delivered another item. On August 28th 2009 some promotional depart sales executive called me and offered Samsung Star 3G mobile for 6498 Rupees provided I have to make a payment before 1Pm on the same day. I made a payment and I have received a Samsung Marina (2100) set, I have not opened the parcel since it is a wrong item... I have been contact with them from Last 6 days(initial complaint made on 8th Sep 2009) still problem is not solved, every time I call the customer care executive they give a FALSE promise of solving the problem in 24 hours, and not even reverting the email reply… I had called more than 7 time to customer care so far, every time I have spent on average 20 minutes on STD with them, so far no solution.

Can any one know how to solve this issue? Please let me know how to complain in Consumer Court and possibly in media, so that other wont get cheated…

India Today Book Club — Non receipt of goods in spite of payment

I had ordered for “Sacred Moments” CD’s (a pack of 20 CD’s) offered by India Today Book Club, in September 2008. For which the payment was to be done in three stages (as per payment option offered):
1. Against receipt of VPP
2 & 3 Two cheques of Rs 600/- each.

We have not received the docket till date whereas the cheques have been en-cashed. The Cheque details are as follows:
1. U.Co Bank cheque # 774544 dated 15.10.08 ammount Rs. 600.00 cleared on 01.12.08
2. U.Co Bank Cheque # 774545 dated 15.11.08 ammount Rs. 600.00 cleared on 19.12.08

We have been calling their help line number[protected] ceveral times and have always been assured o[censored]s receiving the goods through VPP within the next 15 days. Last time we launche our complaint at the help desk on the 16th of July 2009, we were assured that the goods would reach us befor the 1st of August 09. The complaint number being 154301 for your reference.

I have also written email's to them but no joy. which can be provide as proof if required.

It is really irritating to get such unprofessiona and unethical response from a comapny that has a INDIA tag on it.

Request you to help me out of this.

India Today Book Club — NON-RECEIPT OF GOODS ORDERED, IN SPITE OF PAYMENT BEING MADE ON JULY 6, 2009 (3 months ago)

On Monday July 6, 2009, I accepted an offer received by E-mail from The India Today Book Club for a pair of REEBOK SHOES and FLOATERS at the cost of Rs. 2499. I paid through Credit Card. I immediately received a reply acknowledging that I have made the said payment.

On not receiving any communication from them for over 7 weeks, I e-mailed them on August 24, as the phone lines were always busy.

They replied that due to some technical error, my order had not been updated in their records and that I should wait a week.

On receiving no response again, I e-mailed them again on September 10, 2009. They replied the next day requesting for copies of my Credit Card Statement showing proof of payment. I E-mailed scanned copies of the same immediately, i.e. on September 11, 2009.

Today is October 8, 2009, over 3 months sionce I placed the order and I am simply fed-up with their total apathy and disregard towards the whole incident. I now want the Goods ordered or my money (Rs. 2499/- + interest) back immediately.
