[Resolved]  Michelin Tyres — Never Buy Michelin Tyres - not meant for Indian Roads

I purchased the Michelin tyres 3 months before from two dealer AM. Mehta and Darshan Tyres in Pune India. and one of the tyres got a bulge on the right side. I showed to the dealer who in turn called the Michelin Engineer. THe engineer had some discussion with the dealer and they discuss something withing themselves.

The engineer has inpsected the tyre and said that its due to some impact and there is a bulge on the side wall. The car run only 3000 km when I put the new tyres.

There is no mark on the Rim of any impact on the aloy wheels. The engineer has refuse to listen to my claim. Dealer has offered me a discounted tyre so that, his sale can happen.

I would like Michelin Management to look into it else I am planning to file a consumer complaint against it. Any loss to the car or life due to defective tyre will be a sole responsibility of Michelin

Hi – I bought Honda City in 2012 Oct, which was fitted with Michelin tyres. After 1 year (3000kms) one of my tyre was busted while driving it was with a sudden unbalance. I didn’t pay much attention to it and got a tube fitted within the tyre and was using it as a spare wheel. Again after 6 months (4000kms) while running on a patchy (without any holes) road tyre busted with a huge imbalance. I was traveling with my family and it was very risky to get into such a situation. This one I replaced with new michelin tyre which I feel was my greatest mistake. Now Again after 3 years (7000kms) I was travelling on a national highway NH8 and suddenly got a flat tyre. While replacing found that there are cracks in the tyre on the side wall and there was a hole on the side wall, it was busted again. This time it was very hard to balance the car on the highway. By god’s grace nothing happened and we were safe.
I have other cars as well which are fitted with MRF or JK tyres and they are running perfectly fine from 10 years. I don’t know of what Michelin tyres are made up of. These are so risky without any impact they are getting busted. No one can rely on them. These are not cost effective as well, they cost approx. around Rs 5500 - Rs6500.
I am looking for proper justification why it happened and that to 3 times in a row. This is a matter of safety for a family.

Thanks,

This complaint made my decision easy. Will not be going for Michelin for upgrading my tyres, earlier had zeroed in on Michelin.
Highly recommended don’t buy Michelin Tires in your lifetime
I purchased for its international brand, highest price and good reputation but that was worst decision. In fact I went to dealer to purchase Bridgestone but the dealer Hindusthan tyres at Badambadi, Cuttack suggested to go for it as it is a international brand. May be I knew afterwords the dealer gets more commission from the sale of Michelin tires.
Out of 4 tyres purchased three shown problem... The leftover tyre may show problem in near future. The service is also very bad. They never behave well. Any tyre you take to them they out rightly say that it is not manufacturing problem. The company listens the dealers voice not the customer. Because dealer sales their product and get good commission.

After 10, 000 km one tyre showed crack. After 20, 000 km I find one of my tyre get burst and I met an accident. Now after 30, 000 Km I find one tyre get cracked and when I went to the dealer, the dealer misbehaved me and said why you have always complaint, may be you are driving very rough. The statement was quite disgusting.
NEVER >>>NEVER>>>>> BUY
Hey people,
I was among the unfortunate ones to get Michelin tires factory fitted on both my vehicles. My Honda City gets a bump within 10k running and Michelin refuses to change the tyre saying that it has been damaged due to potholes. I also observed cracks on tires fitted on my car and the problem never stops. One tire has a problem of lower air pressure and no puncture is being found. My Audi had a small pothole fall and the tyre burst. Had it been other companies tires nothing would have happened. Never going to buy Michelin in my life...
i am not happy with Michelin Tyres Services, i purchased new Michelin Tyres 7 month ago and last week i found bubble in one Tyre and i went to delar to show and they also agreed this is manufacturing defect and they also raised the Complaint to Michelin and after one i got message from Michelin. i am really very disappointed with her services. i dont what to do now, but definitely i am not going buy poor tyre company Michelin.

For case CLUP[protected] for customer ASHISH Gupta, claim of Rs. 1, 768.50 has been passed. Please pass on the claim to the customer on the next purchase of Michelin Tyres and the amount will be reimbursed to you. Please ignore this message if you have already passed the discount. Regards, Michelin India
