Nokia 5130, UniverCell — Black screen, new handset less than a year old. Refused replacement based on Warranty | |||
Extreme dissatisfaction with the phone purchased via retailer Univercell. Given for service over 4 times in the last one year. Asked for a replacement since it was in warranty, but refused by Univercell and Nokia. Was asked to speak to multiple people (including Nokia customer support(Mr Gopalakrishnan[protected] and Univercell ([protected]) The last service was on 24-Mar 2010, Job sheet #[protected] with a S/W upgrade to solve the blank screen problem (S/W upgrade already done twice). Every service it is claimed that we will never experience the problem. But it occurs. We went with Nokia for the quality and reliability and customer support and have been let down by this company and the retailer. Was this information helpful? | |||

I bought my mobile in April 2009. My mobile goes Blank screen suddenly while using and it never switches on even after removing the battery and putting it on. I am not having any other option that to submit it to Nokia care. I am not even able to take back up of the contacts, messages etc.
This problem started in around end of february 2010 and within 9th May 2010 (date when one year warranty expires) I had got this problem three times. I had asked for replacement through mail to Nokia but their reply was "We are currently not able to comment on your request for replacement" . Its the stupidest response I ever got.
Keeping in view the continous problems, I even extended the warranty period by one more year by purchasing NOKIA CARE PROTECT warranty extension. I got this problem recenly on 20th May 2010 and I had submitted for service again now. And also mailed the Nokia Head office again with the replacement request. But the response was SAME. Probably this will be the last time I am going to Nokia Service Centre after which if problem persists, thinking of going to consumer forum

@shanti.sridhar. The job sheet number given by you is incomplete. The number[protected] is just the code of the nokia care centre. It will be follow by few numbers which is the actual job sheet number.
