Nokia — E51 - Faulty Keypad

Hi,

In my mind I always had this impression about Nokia..that it is one of the best in the industry... a professional company but it got completely SHATTERED the moment I entered their service centre near Mulund Station.

I bought E51 - IMEI [protected]. It had a faulty keypad. The call log (green button ) and "1" key does not work. I thought it will require a minor repair...and had to wait for some time with the token. Waited for about 15 mins or so since E series and N series are given first priority.

My number was called ( N2 - 20 june, time - 03:32:29) - The lady gave me assurance that it will be fixed after they verify that it is under warranty period. They opened my handset and said that it is untouched and will be fixed. Now here's the interesting part...

First they opened the handset where there is rubber buttons and damaged it...

Secondly they said that right now the keypad UI's are not available and will be available within week and asked me to deposit the handset with them or take it.

Third they did not clean the display panel and in that opening process of handset invariably put dust particle which are very much visible on the handset!!

I dunno who will be reading this...but surely image of Nokia has taken a beating...should look into investing time and money in some professional service centre rather than some shady place which is always crowded. hell bent on damaging handset and reputation of the company!!

And hey try giving call on this number and you will be greeted with someone with a feeble voice and low energy level...this is the number for Mulund Nokia Service centre - [protected]

Nokia — Issue with Nokia 5800 Mobile phone

Dear Sir,
I had purchased a Nokia 5800 phone in Jan 2009 as part of a pre-order.
Since then, then phone has given me various software issues related to firmware. The company has on timely basis released firmware updates to solve some of the issues. However, the firmwares just kept on creating more issues than it could close.
I am currently stuck with a firmware version which makes the Internet connection (Wi-Fi and EDGE), FM radio and Acceleratometer work erroneously.
These features stop working suddenly for no reason. Sometimes a reboot makes the feature work, sometimes even that does not help. At times, switching off the bluetooth solves the problem and at times it doesnt.
This has led to a phone which I cannot rely on for using internet. I have spent INR 22000 on purchasing a phone so that I can have mobility and internet access on demand. With such erroneous behaviour, it defeats the purpose of mobility.
The problem has been acknowledged by the Nokia Care Centre (at Opera House) as a firmware issue. However, the company refuses to provide a timeframe when the correct firmware will be released. On demanding a replacement with a new phone, the technician is not willing to discuss and asks just to wait for the new firmware.
Please help me obtain a refund for this phone or at least provide a replacement phone which functions correctly.
