Fraud Alert!
The postal life insurance policy, PLI, seems to be vulnerable to a fraud of identify theft, identity duplication and manipulative fraud. It appears to be a prevalent practice among a section of postal insurance agents to exploit the duplicate copy of the insurance receipt generated by the computer system. The first premium amount can be paid at the post office counters through agents and the receipt generated for this payment does not carry the policy number. As the system generates two receipts one of the receipts is attached with the original policy application. The duplicate receipt opens up avenue for fraud. Modus operandi of the fraudulant insurance agents is to open up a new application that matches the details of the duplicate reciept with different postal address. This tantamount to doubling of the insurance policies. Who gain from this? The insurance agent, because he gets double the incentive. The medic, who provides false certifications. Who lose? 1) The inurance agency as it pays up double the amount of incentive 2) Insurance agency again as this opens up avenues for false claims 3) The investors (who invested money on the insurance company). 4) The customer, as his claim might be forfeited in leu of a fraudulant claim.
This fraud can be one of the reasons why there are inordinate delays in settling the claims. Though minor, this fraud has far reaching implications of identity theft and duplication.

Insurance — status report
Respected sir,This is to inform you that I want to know the status of my insurance policy, the LIC office is situated in Rajgangpur(Orissa). The staff there is not at all co-operative.
They sent me from one table to another and they give lame excuses like (there is no paper to print the report). I have visited the LIC office many times and they keep saying me to come after two hours or so every time I visit.
Sir this is not a professional way to deal with a customer
It will create a bad image for your company. I request you to look forward to the matter and take necessary steps.
Thank You
