[Resolved] Regional Passport Office Chennai — One of the Worst Service in India | |
Hi This is Rajkumar. I have applied passport for my spouse in Regional Passport Office Chennai. When i was applying passport she doesn't have her name attached in a ration card So we have submitted the Bank Stmt. But She was having bank statement for 10 months. The RPO staff asked bank statement for 12 months otherwise give a proof for you previous stay. So we decided to give ration card for her native place from her parents. So there will be two police verification one is in Chennai the present address and the other is Dharmapuri her native place. We applied this by Nov 2007. The police verification was cleared in Chennai after one month and the status of our file in RPO website is "Your Police Report has cleared. File is under process". But the police report has not cleared in Dharmapuri. After few weeks (Jan 2008) the status in RPO website was Discrepancies in Your File. You will be informed through a letter. So my wife went to passport office and got appointment with RPO. She spend the whole day in passport office and finally in the evening she got appointment. Then the passport officer said we didn't receive police report from Dharmapuri. So wait for few more weeks. Then my father-in-law directly went to DSP office Dharmapuri and struggled one and 1/2 months and finnaly the police report has been sent to Chennai from Dharmapuri (By 4th March 2008). Now 13th March 2008 my wife went to passport office and inquired. The RPO staff saying still we didn't receive the file. We got frustrated like anythink. Will the process change ? As a citizen of India why are struggling to get a passport for 5 months. Is it possible to raise this issue in High Court or Supreme Court. I applied my passport on5th july 2009 but yet I didn't get me passport .I have an urgent trip to Paris but I dont know what they are doing...they didn't attend the telephone call also...

i strongly agree with u. my status also worse.i applied for the pass port five months before still i didn't have the pp.the processing speed is dead.even i can't see my status in enquiry status.then why they kept the things in website ? but i hope the govt.will the change the system soon.

One more person I meet him at passport office jaipur. with same problem he was facing this problem even he applied under tatkal from last 3 months. He decide to go sucide in front of passport office. I advise him Please do not do lke that . this will not affect on that swaran kumar verma. I said to him i[censored] really want to die. first to go kill that swarn kumar and then u can do what u want for this may be this usefull for some other people.
becouse he is the only person who can listen other people problem but he is own the problem.

This is to inform you that I applied for the Passport on 22nd February File Ref number DLH- Z[protected] through Nehru Place, District Passport Office. My Police verification was completed on 30th March’2010.
Since last 64 days, daily I am watching my passport status on website www.passport.gov.in. The status shown is POLICE REPORT IS CLEAR, APPLICATION UNDER PROCESS.
Futher, I wish to inform you that it is almost 3 month now(110 days). When I tried to inquire via passport official email id, they didn’t reply.
Please confirm when I will receive my passport.

Not only delay in service the unruly behavior of the staffs at its best. Lately I’ve been to the passport office in Chennai, from 8am in the morning following a big Q and managed to get a token, the staff who’s supposed to be in his desk by 10am came only by 10.40am, as soon as he took his kingly seat he started summoning the applicant waiting, you will not believe the way he speaks to the applicant where if the applicant has come begging for alms, In Tamilnad we don’t accept addressing in singular which is believed to be disrespect but this guy was calling everyone hey, vaa, po, nee application selathu po poinae irru ? The whole concept of having a staff is to guide the applicant politely wherein here I just can’t believe the attitude of these staff's in the Chennai passport office, if I thought this person is the worst the next window had a lady who was judging the application they way it is stapled, One young guy was pleading to her but she definitely was too stubborn to hear him literally threw his application.
Was there no one to monitor them? Or what’s happening in the passport office of Chennai.

I fully agree with all views. We have applied in Dec 2009 and till (17/08/2010) passport not received despite our personal intervention with Police at Chennai and Trichy. Even after receiving Police verification reports Pasport Office never bother to update the website. There will not be any reply for Phone (no body will lift - Even the RPO, 2 DPO !! ?? etc). even if you personally go you have to spend 2 hrs to get the darshan of Enquiry Clerks and they behave like GODs!!. they never easily give token to visit APOs. Even i[censored] visit APO after a great struggle they act is demon on us. God only Save Chennai RPO and India. Vasudevan
All These guys have sent their comments three years back.. and Me myself applied for passport now in 2011. Still no change in their process. As like the same, Making us to wait from morning till evening even after so called 'online application' and sending us back without proper response. The worst thing is this rule applies even for old people and infant passports. As being citizen of India i know very well how govt. office works But this is one of the worst offices which i`ve ever seen. And even there more than those officers sitting inside, the security standing outside will treat every one as if they were his slaves. Even our police man wont do such things.
And I also know these Indian govt. offices never change. but still want to share this. And There is a small tips to get passport in India,
(i) Became a politician or become a friend of any politicians.
(ii) Moreover the same, become a terrorist.
and for the above two categories, more than one passport can also be issued based on our needs.

Absolutely disgusting to say the least. Those jokers managing the counters are rude and their mobile phone ever keeps them engaged. They should be time bound results of the status of the applicants and not make applicants wait indefinitely.To wait for over a year to get a passport shows the efficiency of the the RPO or is there something more than that meets the eye?
