[Resolved]  Reliance Communications — Harassment by sending bills and a legal notice even after termination of services

I have been trying to disconnect the Reliance netconnect services for the past four months but all our efforts and calls went unnoticed. Finally on 27th September 2010, when Mr. Sunil Murkar came to collect the bill we spoke to the executive and told her that we have been trying to disconnect the services and that this will be the last bill that we shall pay. She gave us a confirmation that our services shall be terminated and to avoid too much trouble we just decided to pay the bill even when we were not using their services and to end this matter. Mr. Murkar told me that there is no need to fill any termination letter and even when i was returning the USB he told us there was no need for returning it. I was suspicious so I told him to sign on the receipt stating that the termination letter has been collected on 27th September, 2010.
Even after that I received a bill for bill period 22/10/2010 to 22/11/2010. I was extremely irritated and called the senior executive who gave me a termination number[protected]. He also told me that i wont be required to pay the abovestated bill and that soon i will be receiving a termination confirmation call from Reliance which i unfortunately never received
In Jan, 2011 I received another bill for bill period 22/11/2010 to 4/01/2011. On 15th January, 2011 I received a notice from an Advocate, Mr. Shadab Peerzade, wherein it was stated that if i did not pay the bill of 1477/- civil and criminal proceedings will be initiated against me.
I called the nodal office on 30322222 on 15th January, 2011 where i was told that the termination date was mentioned as 22/12/2010. I asked him to send me a mail with these details but he said that was not possible. He filed a complaint in their system and gave me the ID number[protected].
There is no coordination even within Reliance Communications which is very clear from the fact that even when their system shows the date 22/12/2010 as the termination date i was sent a bill for bill period till 4th Jan 2011.
After talking to him another lady from Reliance called me asking if i was ready to pay the bill and when i plainly told her that the matter has to be sorted she told me to meet in the court. I feel this is ridiculous and a disgusting way of treating consumers. They are just harassing us by doing all this.

That time, When i received many emails and some noticed .. and again notices ... i replied to Mr. Anil Ambani personal email and company email including Cc to Reliance info..

I sent approx 15 emails continue as reply of each email received from this advocate..

Belife me, withing 10 min, they start calling me and asked to stop sending emails to Mr Anil Ambani.. i received different different calls to stop sending email. and after that .. everything stopped.

Reliance Communications — Mental Harrassment

Sir/Madam

Myself Mithun Kumar Shinde. I had a Reliance landline phone connection[protected] with a fixed monthly Rs. 500 plan which i terminated in october, 2007. My billing month used to startfrom 15th to 14th of next month.
I requested for termination on 13th oct, 2007 before the start of next billing month. I settled my bill, submitted my phone and my security deposit of Rs. 1000 was adjusted in my final billing amount. The concerned person from the webworld told me that its easy because you get your deposit immediately and Reliance communications would not have to issue me a deposit cheque. So the concerned person called the customer care services and told everything about deposit settlement and termination of
connection. He gave me final bill receipt and next day i got a call from Reliance communications customer care that your account is settled and the connection is terminated.
But i got a shock next month when i got a bill of more than Rs. 500 on my name for a connection which was already terminated as a pending amount. So i wrote a note on the bill about the termination and sent it back. But again next month i got the bill with a higher amount this time. So I called the customer care and told them about the bill. So I was told that my connection was terminated and you send that bill back to us.
But the bill kept coming every month end. Now after 6 months bill I got a letter saying about a pending amount of Rs. 1529 and my connection hasn't been terminated yet. So I called customer care services of Reliance that what is this all about and told them everything about termination.But they are saying that your number is not terminated yet and I should show them the termination acknowledgement receipt which the webworld person never issued me.
So now I am in an awkward position because they are saying that bill amount will rise every month if you don't pay it.
So please solve my problem and make the company pay for my mental harrassment.

Reliance Telecom — Bills sent even after payments are made

To whom so ever concerned,
I have paid my bills ages ago and was promised that the instrument will be collected by one of the Reliance representative, till date appx. a year has passed and no one has turned up, what turns is the relaince bill. I have giving the complaint in writing fthe same to our nearest reliance gallery yet no one has bothered to collect the instrument. On calling customer care and giving the cheque details the representative assures you that someone will come to collect the instrument, forget about collecting the instrument the collection officer crosses the limit of being unpolite rather than checking the records... Its one of the horrible services I have ever experienced and would strongly not recommend anyone to use it either. The reason I am writing this today as I again have recieved a bill of which payments are already made.

[protected] kharida tha. jo ki 12/06/08 ko hi recharge nahi ho paya A.J.Televenture Bulandshahar se contact karne par unhone bataya ki abhi ye cupon server par load nahi hua hai do din bad karna. do din bad bhi recharge nahi ho paya. cotmer care se baat karne par unhone apne area office me contact karne ke liye kha per whan se cupon ke bare ma koi information nahi mili. so i requested you ki PLZ mujhe is cupon ki details jaldi bhejne ka kashta kare. thanking you. Is sambanth main mai pahle bhi complaint bhej chuka hun par abhi tak koi details nahi ayee hai.

RIL — unwarranted billing

I was a reliance customer using their internet services and I had requested to cancel my connection 12 June 2008, when i approached the local office in Shimoga in Karnataka to disconnect their services they then said i cant cancel for 6 months ( i had taken their connect in Feb-March periodso they wanted me to continue till August) and refused to hand me the termination form.I had not been given any information or brochure copy. I complained to their nodal office and they asked me to approach their local office for termination form. After i approached the local reliance office they said they had run out of forms . Since I would be out of station for 2 months (JUNE -JULY) I mailed to their nodal office again and informed that i cant follow up again and to please advise their local office in shimoga to cancel my services as i I had NO balance then. Till now i have not been given the termination forms. From June onwards my family is using Airtel connection and reliance still continues to bill me. I have sent around 6 mails to Reliance Nodal office but have been replied only twice and still i get their bills i have informed reliance that i am not their customer anymore. Now i have a huge pending bills from Reliance because the Local reliance Office refused to cancel my account and does not hand me the termination form. If you require i shall forward my mails I had been sending to reliance Nodal officers to you. Please advice me how to proceed to handle this issue.

I have been using reliance postpaid [protected] since october 2008 till date and opted 440 plan(Free STD and Local RIM to RIM 24*7) and i keep on making payment on time and when i come to know that my bill is generated wrongly then i complained so many times in customer care but no action has been taken so far ..though i am complaining since feb 2009 and asking CDR (call details request as good as itemised bill) to make sure that i am been billed correctly but no action has been taken so far and complain is geeting closed in the Reliance system without providing any services to customer. Just because of this i am been harrased by mental and financial both. I am surprised that i have been charged on RIM to RIM CDMA where as i am supposed to get this services free. Please do the needful and look into the matter.

Reliance Communications — Termination of our services without notice !

Dear Sir,

Brief about our Service Provider :-
Company : Reliance Communications.
Our Relationship No. : [protected]

We would like to inform you that the company has discontinued our service, with out giving us any prior information.

Our last bill dated 11th April 2010. is been fully paid. and today [20th May'10 ]we have received one more bill dated 11th May 2010, by courier.

But the company has discontinued our service from 5th May 2010 onwards.

We have approched their customer care divsion in Pune on 6th May 2010, and have registered our complaint with them,. they had promised that, they would be in position to re-start our service effective from 7th May 2010 onwards.

But neither their services have started, till 18th of May 2010. so therefore on the same day, we checked up with the customer care, over phone, but now our customer id and phone is deleted from their record. and their is no entry against our number.

We would like to request you to kindly look into this matter as this modes operandi by such a renowned company is really worrying and distrubing. It makes us more unsecured against such operator.

I hope you would understand the agony faced by we as a customer.

Reliance Netconnect — Mental harrassment for outstanding dues even though termination was requested

Hello Sir,

I was holding Reliance Landline number[protected] at 74, City Centre, Near Swastik Cross Roads,
C.G. Road, Ahmedabad - 380 009 in the name of Kalpesh Kishorbhai Shah. I had requested termination of connection on 23rd January, 2010 & at that point of time, the customer care executive told me that my termination will take effect within 14 days.

Somebody from their legal department calls me on daily basis & threatening me of legal action. I have told that i am ready to pay all the legitimate charges but please provide me copy of the bills so that i can take a look & i will pay all the charges which are legitimate. I also went to Reliance Web World at Vasana, Ahmedabad but they also didn't co-operated. Is it fair enough to threaten any customer without even providing copy of the bills for outstanding amount.

Reliance Communications... is simply worst.. I would like to suggest all of you that never go for the Reliance services. They are cheaters and never solve any issue. They always harassing the people.
They have only one line to say "your problem is escalated and our team is working on the resolution" but I doubt whether they have any team working on customer issues or not.

They did same thing with me also. I am also suffering from the same. Now I spoke with one of the advocate to send them the legal notice for harassing and sending the false billing.

And soon i am going to file a consumer case against reliance for deficiency in service and can claim compensation for harassment.

I totally even i have received a legal notice from Mr Shadab Peerzade saying that my amount 1121/- is pending of July month however i have done my portability in September by clearing paying all outstanding balance.He even mentioned that i they have repeatedly requested me to pay my bill but i haven't thats not true i havens got a single call from them.
I am clueless and dont know what to do.
A letter RCOM/CRO/AUG-12/3336 Dated 04/08/2012 was sent to me from Advocate Shadab Peerzade on instruction of his client Reliance Communications..
In the subject matter please note the following :
1) I was a customer of Reliance Communications for more than 12-13 years. My Account Number was [protected] and MDN No [protected]
2) On 12th March 2012, I requested for porting of my Mobile service under Porting request number RM744462
3) My porting was approved by the Reliance Communication on 22/03/2012. An SMS to this effect was sent to me by Vodafone at 01:03:34 AM of 22/03/2012
4) My services with Vodafone was started w.e.f from 22/03/2012. An SMS to this effect was sent to me by Vodafone at 11:40:56 PM on 22/03/2012.
5) Hence since 22/03/2012, I ceased to be a customer of Reliance Communication. No calls were made on Reliance network nor any services of Reliance Communications were availed by me thereafter under the said Relationship Number.
6) My first call from Vodafone was made on 23/03/2012.
7) I paid an amount of Rs. 271.00 in Cash on 27/03/2012 to Reliance Communication.
8) A bill dated 25/04/2012 (Bill No.[protected] was sent to me. In this bill I was asked to pay Rs. 279.78 (rounded off to Rs. 280.00).
9) This bill was raised for period 25/03/2012 to 24/04/2012 and included Monthly Rental Charges, RWorld Rental and SMS Pack for the period mentioned in point (8) as above.
10) It is worthwhile to note that in the same bill it has been clearly mentioned that my previous dues of 271.27 has been paid as pointed out in point (7).
11) So I was asked to pay for the period when I was no longer customer of his client as pointed out in points (3-6).
12) I was sent another bill next month number[protected] Dated 24/05/2012.
13) In this bill I was asked to pay Rs. 280.05 of Previous Bill and 223.82 of Present Bill totaling to Rs. 504.00 This is the amount for which a legal notice of recovery has been sent by Mr. Peerzade.
14) Needless to say that this Bill, as before, was also for the period when I was no longer a customer of Reliance Communications.
15) Fed up with continued unwarranted and untenable reminders / bills. I sent an email to Reliance informing that I am no longer their customer.

16) I again sent them another email ('Reliance=[protected]').
17) From the context of the mails, it may be noted that one department of Reliance was unaware of other department's doing. They were non cooperative to say the least and expected me to take troubles to prove that I was no longer their customer.
18) There is total lack of inter departmental communication in Reliance Communication.
19) I have time and again asked Reliance to inform me the exact date of termination of my services. So far I have not received any definite answer. In fact they have openly admitted that they are unable to furnish the information.
20) I have received an email from Vodafone which clearly mentions that my services on Number [protected] were started on 22/03/2012. (Vodafone Service Request Number:[protected].)
21) This again proves my point that the above mentioned bills raised by Reliance for Period 25/03/2012 onward is illegal as at that time I was no longer their customer.
22) Complaint No 'Reliance=[protected]' and 'Reliance=[protected]' have also been made.
Based on my complaint on www.consumercourt.in, RCOMcare had assured that customer service team will get in touch with me on this matter. On 27/08/2012, at 14.38 I received a call from +[protected]. I was busy in a meeting and hence the call was missed. I called back on the number at 14.46 but the number did not have receiving facility and I got a message that the number should be checked. I called Reliance Customer Care at 198 but they were not able to help me. At 19.08 Miss Neelam called me from [protected] and told me that she is calling from Reliance Communications Social Media Team. She had not read my mails and she was not aware of my problems. She promised to call me later on after doing her research. She called me again on 28/08/2012 at 16.51 Hrs. She was non committal in nature and said she needs more time to get into depth of the matter. On 29/08/2012 at 10.45 AM, Mr. Sandeep called me from [protected]. He discussed the whole matter again with me and promised to give me a call later on after talking to the seniors. He called me again at 14.50 from same number and informed that my case has been resolved and I need not pay any money. However, I insisted a written communication of Apology that the matter was wrongly initiated and they have rectified their mistake and no dues are recoverable. Because a Legal Notice by Mr. Shadab Peerzade had been sent to me, I wanted a letter from him that the matter is closed and his legal notice stands null and void. Mr. Sandeep flatly accepted his inability to provide me a written reply and hence the matter still is not resolved.

My complaint is against Reliance sales executive who sold connections on phone call, below are the details what i m facing from last week

On[protected]afternoon) I received call from Sales Executive from Mobile Number [protected] asking me to purchase new Reliance Number, i was need new number so i ask for good and unique numbers with suitable plans for me then he send me mail with four unique numbers with list of Plans (mail received from ID nisha kumari <[protected]@gmail.com>;, I decide to buy two numbers of my choice called backed him to send two numbers of my choice.

On[protected]afternoon), The Executive (field boy) visit my premises handed over me two Sim Cards and pick the required documents from me with Connection charges of Rs 850.00 of both connection and informed me the both sim will be activated after 48 hours from now. He also give me two receipts of both connection mentioning amount i paid for connection with CAF Number [protected] & [protected] for mobile numbers [protected] & [protected] respectively. (Executive Number +91 [protected])

On[protected]:30pm) I inserted one sim of Number [protected] to my phone and called to different number to check whether it activated or not, Bell rang to another It was activated i was happy but when i checked the number on display screen on other's phone, I was shocked the number was totally different as i paid for I called several times Both Sales executive and Field boy both were not picked my call & Second Sim was at my home so when i returned to home i inserted that Sim to another mobile for check, It was deactivated. I waited for complete 48 hours from purchase.

On[protected]Morning) I checked again it was still deactivated, I realized that i have been cheated. In afternoon I called again to Sales Executive this time he picked the call i told him about every problem he understands my problem and ask me to give him some time to check the matter, He called back me within 5 minutes apologies and assured me to solve my problem & informed me that next day executive revisit your premises by 10.00 am and exchange your Sim with New activated Sim of Right numbers i paid for. That give me some relaxation.

On[protected].(Morning).I send text to Sales executive for reminding today visit and Was Waiting for Executive...till 11:30 i called sales executive several times, he didn't picked or called back, I called again with different number he picked at once I told him about that executive not visited right now, he replied that he just left from here towards you and he will reach you within 20 minutes. But till evening the executive not visited my premises.

In Same day afternoon i Got Online chat with Reliance Executive Mr Sandeep for 40mins i told him about every problem he advised me to call again and again to executive who sold the new connection to you. He added it is very difficult to change number of Sim and you should wait for 48 to 72 hours, i said ok and asked for Reference number of our conversation for future correspondence he was hesitating to provide me the same. I requested several time then he give me the reference number [protected], i thanked and request him to forward my request to concern department.

In Evening : I called again Sales executive he picked and replied the executive met with the accident that why he is not able to visit, then i understand his problem and ask to send another executive then he said tomorrow is holiday(sunday), I will send executive on monday, Still i was believing in him cause i don't have another way.

On[protected]Sunday), I received Welcome call on my Disputed Reliance Number from Reliance (Mumbai) +[protected], Executive Asked for Kalpana Saxena i replied there is no Kalpana Saxena, then he said my disputed reliance number and asked are you using it, i replied Yes but this is not number i purchased from Reliance, I explained matter to him he also belief that i have been cheated by him and added more of the cases came from Sales by tele calling, i asked why Reliance not taking action against him as they spoiling their goodwill, he not able to respond, he advised me to visit nearest web world but due to seven days working schedule still i am not able to manage visit the Web World.

On[protected]Morning) I called to Sales Executive. Someone else picked the Call I asked for Mr Yogesh (As i came to know his name from last call made on[protected] He replied in threatening tone that i buyed this number couple of days ago and received several unexpected call on it so you also don’t dare to call this number again. I understand that this is a new drama from them, after few minutes i called him again from another number and asked for Ravi (Fake name), he asked someone else that some asking for Ravi, He replied as he got from other that Ravi is Dead, I asked for Yogesh he said he was his brother he also dead in a funny way and asked who are you he said i am their third brother. I asked for address he replied Kabristan. I realized that this a totally waist of time to expect any favour from them.

During several conversation with Sales Executive i asked for their address some time they replied Gurgaon & some time Delhi Connaught Place.

Now I don’t need the exact number for what i spent my money and time & but i want Company should take action and every that kind of person get punished who make fun with Other's Money and Time. I think for company their growing turnover matters than customer satisfaction.

Please refund my money with comensation for harrasment from Reliance.

Has anyone got any updates on the reliance legal notice, cause i guess they are sending the notice emails to lot of people and the practice is still continued.

infact some impersonation is also being done by these guys and can someone highlight on what happened after the legal notice email (are they sending legal notice or is it an email; seems like something fishy in their emails too).

Have been getting threatening mails from the same Reliance collections team, such as below. The bill was generated after I disconnected my number . Request number is[protected] I don't owe reliance anything.

List of people complaining the same thing here and an SMS to that effect had been sent don't know how Reliance is dealing with their online reputation with such people adding to their own company's issue.

I too recieved one such Legal notice from Gayathri who does not speak like a lawyer but claims to be one. Reliance is a big fraud company run by collection agents and blackmailers The woman name is Gayathri phone number is [protected]/[protected]
I faced the same issue and that too was happening for more than a month. Daily there were 2-3 smses and mails for legal notices.

Finally I wrote to the appellate authority and all possible members from the authority. Also attached all the communication I had been getting as Legal Notices.

Reliance responded and confirmed that those were done from Reliance only. So, Reliance has give the contacts to those so called collection agencies for collecting the outstanding amount.

Finally there was settlement done and I received full and final settlement letter.

It is really sad to say that a company like Reliance is following such practices to shell out money from customers by harassing them and making no difference between good or bad customers.

I've been using their services since over a decade, and they do not hesitate to treat you like this.

Would never be using Reliance definitely in future and neither recommended anyone using same.
