I got a mail, regarding Sony Ericsson promotion (photo attached) through mail and i will receive a laptop after sending a mail to my more then 20 friends...i sent a mail to my more then 20 friends with this promotional offer...but i yet not recd any promotional gift or any communication regarding it...kindly look in to the matter.

Email Scam ALERT: Free Laptop from Sony Ericsson

Seeing an email that says “Forwarding this xxx times or to as many of your contacts as possible and getting something in return” is not new to most o[censored]s. So far 99% of these times of emails that I got are either nonsens, spam, or scam.

Like this alleged Free Laptop offer from Sony Ericsson.



Says here that Sony Ericsson is gibing away a free Ericson T18 or Ericsson R320 laptop.


Ericsson are distributing free laptops for their brand promotion. They hope to increase their popularity and sale by this campaign. All you need to do is send an email about this to 8 people and you will receive an Ericsson T18 Laptop.

However, if you send an email about this to 20 or more people, you will receive an Ericsson R320 Laptop Make sure you send a copy of your email to: anna.[protected]@ericsson.com”

First of all, the T18 is a Cellphone and not a laptop. Ericsson or Sony Ericsson has not yet released a T18 laptop. Or maybe they did in another planet.

Next, I haven’t heard of a ericsson r320 laptop released by Ericsson or SE.

There’s another version circulating on the internet with this initial line “ The Ericsson Company is distributing free computer Lap-tops in an attempt to match Nokia that has already done so.” Well, Nokia has not yet offered free laptops.. or i think i haven’t received any Hoax emails to that effect.

So dear readers, i hope you don’t get fooled with this one. Its a waste of time.

Sony Ericsson has been made aware of an online email campaign claiming that Ericsson will give away a free laptop computer to users who forward the promotional information. The same campaign includes a photograph of the Sony Ericsson logo and mentions an Ericsson contact name and email number.

Sony Ericsson confirms that this email campaign is a hoax. In addition, Sony Ericsson confirms that the Ericsson contact name does not exist.

All competitions and promotions involving Sony Ericsson are run through official channels such as Sony Ericsson’s website or Sony Ericsson’s partners’ websites. Please be wary of any competition or promotion that appears to come from outside of Sony Ericsson or Sony Ericsson’s partners official channels. Examples of these include via spam emails or SMS.

Please do not reply to or forward the email if you receive it.

i am sick and tired of this who send us this smses saying your number has won large amount of pounds. sony must do something about it cause we are now even scared to buy ericsson mobile phones.cant you guys do something and trace this devils for the sake of your brand and loyal customer. my emotions were very high when i got that sms only to find that it was a scam.

Woww thats corect cos most of the Western Africa guys use to get other peoples contact by promising them big money and then they become victims. Yea guys be aware most of the time you wont win or gain anything on net unless you use it only for your own sake.

i received a sms on 9.02010 in my mobile you have won 500, 000 pounds in on going sony ericsson promo. from the [protected]@uksonyericsson.co.uk nd given contact no. +[protected]. i want to know officaily is it sony ericsson promo or fake msg sent by somebody making ur brand name cheap and misutilize the reputed brand name. is it possible to punish them if its fake or making fool to someone?
