Sony Ericsson K850i — Replacement of Phone

Within 20days of buying the phone, i had a problem with the camera and instead of replacing the phone they replaced the camera. Again within 15days i hav a major problem with the phone. The phone keeps restarting and also whenever i switch off and switch on my phone all my data on the phone is lost.

The Instrument bought has value attached to it and which is hard earned. I dont have time to run everytime to the sony ericsson to get the problem rectified. The instrument has a fault and it needs to be replaced.

actually i have problems in the touch screen all the three keys are not working so that i'm unable to use the mobile within 15 days i gave to the sony ericsson service centre for rectification but till now the problem is not rectified and i still didn't receive the mobile from them.
i didnt get any good result from your service centre for the mobile k850i please rectify or replace the same as soon as you can plz

I purchased this phone around 9 months ago and have had nothing but problems. The phone often freezes on start-up and the touch screen stopped working after about 2 months.

After sending the phone back for repair I had to chase them up to send it; I eventually received it after more than 3 weeks. Unfortunately they hadn't fixed it and so I had to send it back again.

This time they emailed me back saying: "During the inspection procedure the unit has been diagnosed as 'Un-Repairable under the Manufacturer's Warranty'", "We shall be posting you an estimate to cover the cost of the repair" and "we can return the unit to you, unrepaired for the sum of 10.00 +VAT"!! Unbelievable.

This is the worst phone I've ever had. I will never buy a Sony Ericsson again and will do my best to put off as many people from buying them as I can due to the way I've been treated.
I also am 1 of the tortured owner of Sony Ericsson K850i, and guess what, after i browsed the consumer forum i was quickly able to make it out that most of the complaints on K850i is that the phone restarts itself which also is one of the problem with my handset . This actually is a manufacturing deffect which the company was aware off, that being the reason the company had manufactured limited phones and stopped it . Our fight should be against Sony Ericsson . pls reply to me ASAP [protected] .
I am facing all of the problems mentioned above. They have replaced my mother board but sill i face the problems. The Companys aim should not only be just making money. It should also make their customers satisfy against the amount they have spent to purchase the product. As of i know many of my friends who bought sonyEricsson mobiles have atleast gone thrice to service center with in 6 months of their purchase. From now i am going to tell all my friends and whereever possible to NOT to buy sonyEricsson mobile.
Since the day i bought the so called "5 mp SE k850i" it gave me nothing but disappointment and a whole lot of headache!.. since it was a goo looking phone, i put some extra care to it.. but just after 4 months a button"#" popped off..(i can garuntee that it wasnt for my bad use but ofits poor design is tiny separate buttons). in less than a month later it started to restart every time i use the media player and also sometimes when the usage is high.. I sent it to the Sri lankan SE dealer... unfortunately they could only fix the "restarting thing"..they wanted me to pay 9500Rs (sri lankan), which was almost 1/4 th of the phones price just to fix the button by replacing the whole housing..i decided not to spend that much of money(which i could have spent to buy a new phone) repairing, but to use it somehow since "#" wasnt that much used in day to day life.. agin after 1 month the media button (3 way button to toggle between cam/vid/gallery) stopped working. every time i start the camera it goes to video mode...

I used to be a big lover of sony ericsson before purchasing this product..but after all these incidents (there are many more minor defects that i didn't mentioned) i can tell you that i (just like jason) will also pull back all my friends from buying SE..i am badly disapointed with the service the sony ericsson company provided me in this case!
Still this failure product is in the market in sri lanka, it is a shame that SE is not calling the product back..
