[Resolved]  Sony Ericsson P1i Mobile Phone — Battery of P1i - Customer Care - PATHETIC

There is a problem with sony Ericsson P1i Phone Charging.

The Power cord is properly fitted and the phone starts charging. But after 1 mins or so, the phone starts blinking on its own, the Phone locking symbol starts blinking, the phone charging stops. Then when the socket is again touched, the phone again starts
charging. Then after 1 -2 mins, the phone stops charging.

I switch off the phone completely, then start again to get the charging done. This problem I am facing for 2 weeks

sometimes when the phone is charging the Charging led doesn't light. The Phone is just 1 year old, and handled with care.

Is this a standard problem in Sony Ericsson Phones? Is Battery a problem. The Quality of the phone today leaves lot's to be desired.

The Call centre for customer care is pathetic. The Customer care Associates - Amol, Rahul, etc and Team leader hARISH GARG are BAD. If you call on the Toll Free number[protected]

- I called 10 times, The standard response is " Sorry, your voice is not audible, I am disconnecting the call. ' Each and every time.

But if you call on their normal paid numbers, everything is audible. But for every simple thing they will make you wait for eternity. They promise to call back but never do.

PLEASE AVOID PURCHASING SONY ERICSSON PRODUCTS - INVITATION TO NIGHTMARES AND HARASSMENT

Mobile Phone P1i — P1i Mother Board

I bought a P1i handset and unfortunately it got faulty after few days. After this i had logged a complaint in sony errisson complaint centre in sunder vihar that the phone is not getting signals, after checking the phone they say that it is not repairable here, so please show this handset in our other service centre which is situated near Rohini. Now after showing the phone in the said service centre the service engineer said the handset is not repairable and we can't replace the same because it got hitted internaly. I am asking you only this that if the handset got internal damages then why not the external. Please describe in detail. Before this incident i used to bought sony erricsson only, but now i have to think twice because the after sales service is not good.
Its most propobally water damage... water damage wnt cover under warranty...
top part of batter a white portion is thr.if it has turned red then it has come in contact with water whihc resulted in external damage...
TO WHOM SO EVER IT MAY CONCERN

I would like to get in your notice that I purchased a Sony Ericsson P1i Smart Phone on 25/01/2008 (Scanned bill attached) but since I have purchased this phone I am facing major problems with this phone. The details of phone and complaints are as below:-

1. The first complaint was lodged on dt 2/07/2008, problem was TOUCH SCREEN NOT WORKING, SCROLL BUTTON JUMPS & BACK PANNEL LOOSE, (complaint id – SES08BR222124 dt 18/07/2008) regarding this they only changed the jog dial.

2. The Second complaint was lodged on dt 05/08/2008, problem was KEY PAD MALFUCTION, TOUCH SCREEN LOOSE, BACK PANNEL LOOSE, (complaint id – SES08BR223237 dt 05/08/2008) regarding this they changed the touch screen.

3. But now this time it has gone to extreme that on 30/03/2009, I was talking on phone and my handset at once got dead, I thought that it may be the problem of battery down, but after doing and checking all the things my phone did not got alive. On 2nd of April in evening I went to Salora International and they checked the phone and gave it back to me saying that may be they have to load the software again in that case I will loose all the phone numbers, rather I should connect the phone with the computer and try to store all the phone numbers in phone. But neither the phone got open nor the phone numbers can be stored at my residence after connecting the phone with computer. While checking the phone at service centre I saw the person was using some kind of bond to fix something on phone but I ignored, I later on saw that the front panel was broken and the bond was used to fix that. On 7th of April 2009 I took my handset to the same authorized service centre M/s Salora International at D-13/4, Okhla Industrial Area, Phase – II, they loaded the software in my phone and told me that there is some sort of hardware problem though I have to leave my phone as may be it will be send to the higher service centre to get checked & I left my phone on the said date (complaint id SES09BR212930 dt 07/04/2009) I have scanned & attached complaint service tag sheet given by Salora International, after 20 days I made a call myself to know about the handset and I came to know that my handset has been send to Chennai as reported by the staff at Salora International, after few days I received a call again and they told me that my phone is unrepairable and motherboard of my phone is dead, if I want it to be replaced or repaired I have to spend 70% cost of the phone.

4. Today on 08/05/2009 I went to one more authorized service centre at Guru Angad Nagar and they told me that first they will check the software cost of loading software is Rs. 350/- other wise they will check the hardware and if there is some problem in hardware they will tell me the estimate and if I refuse to get it repaired in that case I still have to pay Rs. 250/- as min charges. After that I straight away went to the consumer court to file a case against Sony but before entering the office I made a call to helpline of Sony at 3901111 from where I came to know about the email id i.e. question.[protected]@support.sonyericsson.com then I thought to get all the details in your notice before filling case in consumer court.

One thing more I want to get in your notice that many times my phone use to be hanged and after doing on and off it use to work, before also two times phone itself got off but after switching it on it got opened.

I want to know that after spending Rs. 19100/- If I have to face this type of problem with such a nice phone then what is the use to buy Sony Ericsson phone, where as in this cost but less than the cost many other phones are available. I think that I have taken the worse decision of my life to purchase a Sony Ericsson phone, in future I don’t think that I will be going to purchase the said company phone and I will also asked all my near and dears not to purchase the said company phones as they can also face such type of problems. I am also using NOKIA N-91 Phone since March 2007 but touchwood I don’t have a single complaint with the said phone.

I want the higher authorities of Sony Ericsson to keep themselves in my place and think that is it justified that after a year and two months the mother board of the said phone or any phone can be dead, it seems that there was a major problem from the starting which attacked the phone as depends on usage of phone.

I want the higher authorities to look into the matter personally and either give me a new handset as it was defective piece from the beginning or get my handset repaired under F.O.C. otherwise I am sorry to say that I have to go to the consumer court & news agencies to get the right justice.

i have also mailed the scanned complaint tag sheet to your department.

I am waiting for the reply of higher authorities of Sony Ericsson.

Dear All,

I also purchased SONY ERICSSON P1i for 22, 500/- in Oct, 2008. and today it 's in my Junkyard.
Touch screen no more working. Booting itself takes 5 minutes, very pathetic product by Sony.

I purchased P1i for 18000, and as mentioned by Asesh, it takes a hell of time to reboot and also for changing the pannel i approached so many service center in both KERALA and KARNATAKA, all are telling they stoped this model and accessories are no more available. Where as the shop " SANGEETHA, In Kalidasa Road, Mysore " has promised me 1 year warrenty by Soney Ericsson and Entire life service by the dealer shop. Still am not getting whether the company considering the coustomers as fool??? 18000 is not a small amt for me..!!! Me to planning to go for consumer court as the company itself is playing with us
i also had a similar problem with my 2yr old p1i and to my utter shockservice center guys tell me that the mother board needs to be replaced at the cost of RS7000/- . AND THEY HAVE NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THE MOTHERBARD IS DAMAGED WITHIN 3 YRS
