[Resolved]  Sony Ericsson W302 — Internet Settings

I recently bought this phone and was trying to set up Mxit and Operamini...but it says Internet not available
Setup required.Contact I contacted Mxit.., my service provider(Vodacom)and Sony Ericsson..
but no one could help phone is now useless to me...

Dont know where to find help next.I cant even send MMSs

I also tried to install mxit on my w302, and no matter how hard i tried, it doesn't work.
someone, help me please!
This is such a nice looking phone and all that crap i barely use it noe coz i cant get mxit or opera min on it theres no use in me having this phone.I use my old phone way more than i use this one. can someone plz help me maybe tell me if therse a way to get mxit or sumthn on it.

I dont know whats happening to my brand new w302 but it wont allow me to install mxit. i can download it but it wont install. im so angry because all i can do with it now is call, sms and listen 2 music... heres an axplanation about my problem:

ive tried everything, all the different internet settings ive tried all the advice on the internet, called everyone i coud think of...NOTHING so i decided time to make a step. i mean y on earth would sony ericsson market a phone 4 teenagers and they havent even tested MXIT on it, its so stupid cause its like THE application of a phone..HELLOO wake up Sony ericsson were in the year 2009!!! every1 has tried that "try dailing *111#" thing and it wont work, ive literally browsed through all the advice on the internet and it wont work... DO SOMETHING!!!

i was so excited about my new phone cause i got it 4 my birthday
its now just lying there on my table charging from the music i listen on it
i cant get mxit to work and im missing the latest gossip and stuff
it SUCKS!!!if theres any1 out there please email me
if i new that it couldnt take mxit i wouldnt have bought it
im thinkin of takin it back and bying a different 1

Hi I have exactly the same problem with my brand new W302 I went into Vodacom today and they gave me these instructions if it works for any of you please tell me everything about your settings because it doesnt seem to work for me.

1) Select menu
2)Select games or applications where mxit is saved
3)Highlight mxit
4)Select options (left key)
5)Select settings.
6)Select connection
7)Select options( to create new) or select add
8)Select create new.
9)Under name enter Vlive, hit ok.
10)Make sure Vlive has a black dot next to it.
11)Now choose options and select edit-Vlive
12)Edit Menu:Edit:Name Vlive( it might already be there) hit ok
13) Preffered Connection:Select "PS"
14)Proxy address: Select use and make sure that the yes has a black dot next to it
15)Still in Proxy Menu select -Proxy address- type in then hit ok.
16)Still in Proxy menu select -Port number: Select insecure then type Port number: 8080 and then hit ok again.
17)Now tap the back key twice and it should take you to your accounts menu where you will see that under PROXY is GSM select this
18)IN GSM: scroll down down and select mode, press back to ACCOUNTS menu
19)Select (edit) PS Data, scroll down to APN and push edit-Type in Vlive and press ok, then press back, to accounts and select save

YOUR CONNECTION POIT TO THE INTERNET SHOULD BE Vlive (with a black dot ticked next to it)
Restart your phone and you should be able to log into mxit
I have same problem. But instead of Vaodacom I have virgin mobile. They gave me similar instructions but just for Virgin. Ive done what you have said on my Vodacom simcard and it works!! But I cant seem to get Mxit to work on Virgin mobile
