[Resolved]  Spice — Unauthorized caller tone download and charging thereof

I am writing this to let you know about the way Spice Telecom (Karnataka) has been breaching practices of fair trading and functioning in a way that, I am sure would constitute deliberate deception.

1. I have been getting unsolicited text messages from Spice in spite of choosing not to have these; these are practically sent every few minutes that has been interrupting my work . I work in a busy intensive care unit of a high acuity hospital and these text messages have been a serious distraction in the delivery of care to the really sick patients that I have to deal with everyday.

2. More importantly, I got 3 text messages this afternoon (29/02/2008) saying that I have "subscribed to my tunes" - at Rs. 30.00 per month. I do not have a clue as to what "my tunes" is; I certainly did not authorize anyone to subscribe me to the aforementioned facility. As far as I see it, this is plain and simple cheating. I can also confirm, that my ring tone has been changed to some kind of weird film music that I hate to be played upon someone who rings me - I am not that kind of person who has perhaps collaegues / friends of that kind that would be interested in listening to this kind of rubbish.

I persume that Spice Karnataka in involved in large scale cheating of its customers in this fashion. I feel it is my responsibility to let you be aware of this real possibility.
