[Resolved]  Vodafone — Bill Payment Updation

This is with regards to my horrible experience with Vodafone service regarding my cell number A/C[protected]. I received bill amounting to Rs 1217.53 for the period 25/11/08 to 24/12/08. I made a payment for the same using my American Express Card on-line using the Bill desk payment gateway on your vodafone website.

However even after making the payment i received a couple of messages reminding me that the payment has not been made. I was informed by your contact center people that the said payment is not reflecting in your systems.Hence i took a print out of the American Express card statement and went and submitted the same to your Goregaon (E) Gallery on 18th January 2009. I met your customer service representative named Kajal in the Goregaon Gallery and she assured me that the payment details have been updated.

Funnily enough even after submitting the physical proof of the payment I continued to get reminder messages for non payment of bill. however I ignored the same as the message also said that i should ignore if i have already made the payment. Suddenly on the 29th of January 2009 I started getting a recorded message on my mobile phone instructing that i should go and pay the unpaid bill in order to avoid disconnection of services. As such I called up your contact center on the 29th of January 2009 and spoke to a customer service representative Mr Rakesh and informed him the entire mess. He was however not able to help me in any way and after a lot of repeated requests as well as haggling by me he put Kajal from the Goregaon gallery on the line. Kajal informed me that although she has updated the system on the 18th of January she had misplaced the American Express Card statement that i had given her as proof of payment. She requested me to once again submit the same. I also sent an on-line complaint through the MY FEEDBACK option on your website.

Around the 3rd of February 2009 I stopped getting the recorded message on my mobile phone instructing me to make the payment. Hence i though that finally my complaint seems to have been attended to and the payment records must have been updated.

Unfortunately for me that was not the case. Today morning I recieved a call from some lady from Vodafone stating that I had not made the December bill payment. I informed her that she should check with Kajal at the Goregaon gallery as to why the payment details were not updated. Moreover I again gave her payment details of the payment made by me on the 6th of January 2009. Today afternoon around 3.30pm I got a rude shock when i tried to make an outgoing call from my cell phone and realized that my outgoing services had been barred. I again called up your contact center on[protected] and spoke to a representative named Rahul who again informed me the same bull that the out going services have been barred because of non payment of bill.

I am attaching herewith the copy of the American express statement which clearly shows an amount of Rs 1217.53 which has been debited to the American express card on the 6th of January 2009.

I need a clarification on the following points:

As a customer why should i be penalized by barring my outgoing calls for no mistake of mine?
Instead of rewarding a customer for paying before the due date is it Vodafones' policy to punish customers for paying before time??
Why should i need to go and submit proof of payment in the first place??
Who will compensate for the time lost on explaining the entire issue time and again to stupid and rude people??

I need a written apology from VODAFONE as well as VODAFONE should compensate me for the mental harassment and waste of time as well as inconvenience caused to me due to barring of outgoing services.
