I submitted my Acer Nitro 5 laptop for repair under extended warranty due to a spontaneous display issue. On 06 Dec 2025, a service representative visited my residence, inspected the laptop, and collected it for repair.
For nearly one week after collection, I did not receive any proactive updates from the branch. Every follow-up regarding the status had to be initiated by me.
After repeated follow-ups, I was contacted by the service engineer who stated that the repair was complete and requested the BIOS password. Subsequently, I was informed that the laptop would not be returned, and an ₹18, 000 voucher would be issued instead.
I categorically reject the voucher offer. I demand immediate repair and return of my laptop, or replacement with an equivalent/new device under extended warranty. I also require assurance that my personal data has not been compromised.
This constitutes a clear deficiency of service and unfair trade practice under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. I request urgent resolution and expect a written confirmation of the same. Was this information helpful? |
