Subject - malpractice of making forcefully selling of life insurance and other policy against sanctioning of house loan. Dear sir, With due regard i want to state that my wife smt padma rawat and i as a co-applicant applied for a house loan from d. H. F. L. Bank, branch dehradun, state uttarakhand. Before the sanctioning of loan the bank totally put a dark blanket on the insurance part and just told us its mandatory to do insurance for the security of the loan which will be too nominal and they asked to deposit 10 signed blank cheques for the repayment of loan but they used the cheques to fulfill their ill motive of forcefully buying the insurance. I am employee o[censored]ttarakhank state government an hence being state government employee i avail all the facility of government job like insurance, health insurance which has no limit etc. A sum of rs. 28, 25, 435.00 was sanctioned for home loan for me. I was shocked to see that after sanction of loan the bank rtgs rs. 7, 50, 000.00 to my account and on the very day dhfl debited rs.30, 000.00 in the name of life insurance policy. By viewing my online account i came to know that the bank has sanctioned first installment of rs. 10, 75, 435.00 but the money the bank debited from my sanctioned amount was like this - 1-dhfl home shield - premium amount is rs. 2, 90, 489.00 2-residential property insurance - premium amount is rs. 25, 016.00 3-critical illness - premium amount is rs. 9, 030.00 4-dhfl pramerica - premium amount is rs. 30, 000.00 An aggregate total of rs. 3, 54, 535.00 See the bank ill intention, the bank siphoned of rs. 3, 54, 535.00 which is 35.00 % of my first installment. See how they are making mockery o[censored]s. We approach the bank for house loan and in turn they knowingly deducted 35% in advance and on top of that they are charging about 9.00% interest on the deducted amount also. I have lodged complaint to the bank through mail and personally meeting the bank official but all in vain. My grievances is that- 1. I don’t want all these insurance which is of no use to me and it should be cancelled and all the deducted money should be returned to my account immediately so that i can utilize this money for my house construction purpose. 2. One time home shield premium amount of rs. 2, 90, 489.00 is not fair because against the net first installment of rs. 7, 20, 000.00. This should be on yearly basis not one time. It is burden and on top of that i have to pay interest on this sum which is not justifiable. It is requested to your kindness to do some necessary action so that illegal deduction of rs. 3, 54, 535.00 may be remitted to my account and also the blank signed cheques of mine should be handed over to me as early as possible so that i would utilize this money and cheques for construction of my house which is held in between the malpractice of the bank. With this mail i am sending documents regarding my house loan and insurances which was provided by the bank when i was very much disappointed by the dhfl bank branch dehradun. Not only me they have played these type of dirty tricks with my friends also and some one has to raise the voice against this malpractice of private banks. Hope that some thing good would be done by your side. After lot of correspondence to bank they told me to submit indemnity bond which i have submitted about two months ago but all in vain Thanking you in anticipate.
