My Motor Insurance Policy : Ref HFG74553 My Car Insurance Policy was due for renewal on 24 May 2021. Their Agents started sending me messages / contacting me as early as March 2021. I renewed the policy on 7 May as requested by the Agents. There was no accident/claim till then and the Agents asked me to send a message to that effect. I had obliged. They did not inform me that if, after the renewal and the expiry of the then existing policy, there comes a claim I should pay the No Claim Bonus Recovery Amount. And I did not know this provision. On 17 May 2021 the car met with an accident and a claim was made. Now I receive a letter from Future Generali India Insurance Co. Ltd accusing me of concealing the CLAIM at the time of renewal. The letter was qurantined as usual and did not get any special attention as it did not have anything special to attract immediate attention. At that time I thought FGII Co. was very much advanced and that they have sent a hard copy of the Insurance policy document! The letter goes: quote: However, on verification of our records, we have noted that you are eligible for 0% NCB, because of you have made a claim under your previous policy. (I don’t’ know what sort of English is this!) Due to the above, we are unable to allow you the No claim bonus of 20% What happens now? The own damage cover section of your policy is not active. This means you can’t claim any damages to your vehicle till you activate your policy again. How to activate your policy? You need to first get your vehicle inspected by us by paying an inspection fee (approximately Rs 500). Once the inspection is satisfactory we shall confirm you to pay NCB recovery amount of Rs 851. For inspection you can do the following; • Contact us. Our contact avenues are mentioned at the end of this document. • Visit your(?) nearest branch. Please visit our website www.general.futuregenerali.in to know your nearest branch Unquote: It being a Sunday yesterday, I contacted them on one of the numbers given by them when they advised me to contact my Agent! THEY COULD HAVE STATED THIS IN THEIR DOCUMENT. I am disappointed with their unprofessional approach, attitude and behaviour.
