I had a very disappointing experience with [IndiGo](https://www.goindigo.in/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) during my international journey from India to the UK. I was charged nearly ?10, 000 for just 3.6 kg of extra baggage, and despite paying such high additional charges, my checked baggage arrived damaged upon arrival. The luggage was handed over to the airline in proper condition but was received damaged after transit. I raised the issue through email shortly after the journey by replying directly to the official excess baggage invoice mail sent by IndiGo on 9 May and provided photographs, baggage tags, and all necessary details. However, instead of receiving genuine support, I only received repetitive responses refusing compensation because a PIR report was not filed at the airport. As a first-time international traveler after a long journey, I was not properly aware of the PIR procedure and no clear guidance was provided. It is extremely unfair that despite clear evidence of damage and continuous follow-up, the airline completely avoided responsibility and failed to provide any repair assistance, compensation, or customer-friendly resolution. The overall experience was highly frustrating, unprofessional, and disappointing, especially after paying significant baggage charges for the same journey. Was this information helpful? |
