[Resolved] IFB Industries — I am being asked to pay for descaling of drum with in warranty | |||
I have ifb washing machine which is still under warranty, someone from service centre visited to give service however the service seems to be incomplete. Only the inlet and outlet pipes were cleaned but drum descaling was not done. When i called customer care they say for that i will have to pay, i don't understand one thing when product is under warranty why do i have to pay for anything (Unless physical damage) and the most important part of washing machine is the drum and if that is not included in basic service then why is it called service under warranty even. Also when i asked to transfer the call to the senior i was kept on hold thrice but senior denied to take the call. Just wondering if i will be heard on this complaint or this will be ignored too. Dear sir, I complain to the customer care but the my complaint was rejected by the service centre many time why this problem and also technical was not visiting to my home to check washing machine and IFB washing machine and also service was very poor

I read your complaint and thought of sharing my experience with you on the descaling of my 4 year old machine drum by the IFB technician.
In May 2016, a technician came to service my washing machine. Since my machine hadn't been serviced for more than 2 years (solely for the reason that nobody from the service centre bothered to connect with me for the same before that), the technician, put 2 packets of the descale powder into the machine. As a result, the drum got corroded and its silver-colored chrome plating too came off. I made several complaints, but to no avail. And I was told that they would send a technician who would have a look at the machine and if the drum was indeed spoilt, I would only have to pay for the new one.This, in spite of the fact that it was the IFB technician who was at fault. It was only after I made a complaint on www.complaintboard.in (Refer: https://www.complaintboard.in/complaints/washing-machine-drum-turned-black-when-...⇄ that they attended to my complaint.
If you're getting your drum descaled, please be careful about it and do make a before-after note of the status of your drum.
Though my previous complaint for the drum had been resolved, I am here on this platform for another complaint. And this time too, it is against IFB.
So just be careful when you deal with these people.
