We thought that, postman is our friend but it is not every time such, I have received a registry post but it was open two side and split. I was not in home Postman firstly sign our records then he given the registry post to someone, when I have received this post there was many thing was missed in this letter and I have received only one document. when I have asked to postman all are saying its system fault and no one takes this responsibility.

Indian Postal service — Stolen items

My aunty has sent some gifts for me and and my family which was going to be a surprise. But when i received the parcel the gifts were missing. It was my favorite perfume and a camera for my uncle. I have the parcel however the things have been stolen.

Yes I also ordered 1 year tinkle but after 8 months i have not yet received one

Same thing happened to me as well. On receiving the package and signing receipt, when the package was opened, the carton was full of papers and not even a sign of shoes and bags which was worth 50000. I compliant to the post master which i am sure will do nothing. Would like to know if anything happened to yours and also what will be the best way to get a claim if not the goods.

I just received a box of souvenirs I sent myself from India. I was at the post office when they sealed it and sewed it into the rice sack, and when I opened the box it did not appear to be tampered with. However, there is a chain or prayer beads and 2 silver charms missing. They were hidden inside several things in the box, but are missing nonetheless. I went to the PO to get prices, and returned the next day with my box and they charged me double. Then they charged me a packing fee that they mentioned nothing about the day before, despite my asking about any other fees. There are so many people out to rip you off in India, and India Post is staffed by especially good thieves.

Pathetic service. For the 3rd time in a row India Post has failed to deliver my SpeedPost in time. This time I am waiting for a letter which was posted 12 days ago through Speedpost . I dont undertstand what is 'Speed' in this context! Snail mail would is more efficient I would say!

My name is Rajkamal and i reside at 178/14 gulmohor Railway colony 1st floor, at gulmohor avenue howrah-711101 with my family, This is to brought to your kind notice that several times i was informed that the letters from various departments which was being forwarded to me is not delivered to me.these letters were on india govt. service and were urgent in nature. during three occassion when i procceded for morning walk (including today i.e on 22.05.10) i personally seen that my letter was lying on road. i am now confirm dat the person who has been deputed for postal delivery is a drunker.neighbours also confirmed his act.now i m very depressed and going with a mental trouma. i cant describe my loss which is related with govt. duty.

I had transfer three RD pass book from Pathakhera MP to Pandaveswar WB in the month of JUne-09 but i could get it on[protected] . In the mean time I approached several times but failed. Now due to non depositing of monthly premium they forcibly closed my accounts .i suffered heavy financial loss for this act. They told that they have sent the pass book to Head Post office near Chetak Circle Udaipur for necessary action.

I had sent two parcels from Paris on 3rd and 7th July 2009 respectively, to my son, Susmit Biswas in Kolkata. The one dated 3rd, containing books, arrived on 28th July. I am still waiting for the 2nd one which contains books and Ceramic glazes. The ref no. is CK[protected]FR. The foreign post office in Kolkata has no knowledge of it. Tracking on the net does not yield results as it is over a month old. However, earlier on it did show that the parcel was with customs at the destination country. Kolkata foreign post tells me that Bombay is the entry point for all incoming parcels from Europe.
I request you to kindly help me out as important books are held up and also my ceramic glazes, in the absence of which I am unable to fire my pottery products.

this postal service in India are chancers ...if you sent a parcel full of smelly they wont touch it it will come to you safely...if they see anything usefull to them ...they just rob it for their family ...[censored]inf freaky holes... hello indian post if you want to charge genuinely ...charge the customs and send the items to the destination ...control your oficers and their cheap behaviours...do you guys think you items will be dispatched..? never...there are lots of bussines oppurtunity through post from india to abroad and vise versa...this attitude of indian post will not help any bussiness like ebay flourish in india...china have already established their bussines to abraod through their prompt postal service...there is nothing to trust in india ...your cheap attitude will kill our countries prosperity...and international acclaimity...individuals are the keys to indias dream about superpower country, you people wont let it happen...stupids I had multiple parcels never came to me from abroad...all of them stuck in customs...you ...ofcourse I love my country ...these people will ruine my behaviour and attitude towards my nation.

Indian Postal service — Theft of my book

I ordered 1 year tinkle subscription which started from april 2009 and from then i had to receive 8 copies of Tinkle but i received only one
The tinkle copies are stolen by the employees of Indian Postal Service
So The Indian Postal Service is functioning to steal small childrens magazine

I have sent Rs. 5000.00 to my family using Money order in Indian postal service. However it didn't post to the address yet and the people (staffs) revolving me in a cycling order. This is really very ridiculous as this is my hard earnd money and my family needs it desperately. They have faces so many problem as the funds didn't get posted to their mailing address. It's been a long time but this issue is still not resolved.

Non delivery of Parcels from the USA to India have reached epidemic proportions. I had sent a parcel to Dhanbad, India on August 26, 2009 from East Brunswick, NJ. I wrote to the Post Master General, USPS, Washington, D.C.. I received the following response:
" It is very difficult, however, to determine the cause of a problem when two countries, Customs, and transporting airlines are involved in processing mail. We simply don't have the capability internationally, as we do domestically, to go into our system and attempt to find out what may have gone wrong."

We should write to PMO, Delhi at pmindia.nic.in/write.htm complaining about theft of parcels in Customs/Post Offices in India.

We hope PMO help us by elliminating widespread corrupt practices in Indian Customs/Post Offices. This is for the first time in my over fifty years in the USA, I faced non delivery of parcel in India from the USA.

I had order a package on December, 23rd 2009 and now its January, 12th 2010. But, still no package and no updates on the website. My package ID is "CJ[protected]US". The last thing that was updated on www.usps.com was "International Dispatch, December 24, 2009, 7:27 pm, ISC LOS ANGELES CA (USPS)" since then no updates.

Dose anyone know or have any contact numbers for USPS office in INDIA?

Can someone help me out with this problem.

From all these complaints it is evident that Foreign Post Office, Mumbai is deeply flawed. The employees are beyond control. As said earlier by others, they check the packages and if they find something valuable they steal it and stuff in it and send to the destination. And the worst thing is that they even charge us the customs fees for that rubbish!!
Recently, I was to receive a camera from Rapidshare but after paying the customs duties, etc. I discovered that the camera has already stolen in the Foreign Post Office, Mumbai and some torn folded magazine has been put into the package. This sucks!
We need to get something done to get reigns laid on the Foreign Post Office, Mumbai. They have become wild and uncontrollable. Now they are not even afraid of any action that can be taken against them, they just steal stuff from our parcels as if it is their own!!

I am resident of self acquired premises – House No. A-4, Indraprastha apartment, Khasra.No.862, Sant Nagar, near Nandini bhawan and Canara Bank & ATM, Burari Road, Delhi-110084. I work with the Legal services and it is nature of my service to get lot of correspondence through postal services, which may also contain important and confidential information’s concerning my clients or myself as well, and if I am not getting my letters, parcels, bills, etc. at my above given residential address since one year, it becomes an absolute matter of apprehension.

It might be an error somewhere in improper dispatching or delivering on wrong address by postal & delivery services and have need of a detailed analysis to get rid of this occurring problem, because if any of my information is use wrongly may cause some serious troubles towards me or my clients.

So, it is accordingly request for the appropriate action on considering these above mentioned points of grievance.

I sent parcel on Dec 22'nd from US through USPS express international mail and it still didnt reached to India. Tracking status was last updated on Dec 24'th - "Package left United States on Dec 23'rd, 2009". After that no update in system. I called 800 numbers and they have opened investigation report and said they will call me back in 1-5 business days. Now its more than 5 business days and didnt receive call back. Went to local post office and they asked me to call 800 number as they dont have any info. I called 800 number again and the lady said they are still investigating and I should receive call from them within 30 days. Now date increased from 1-5 business days to 30 days. I am really frustrated with this service as my documents were very important to reach in time.

Hi, there was 2 used cameras sent to me from my relative in US on 13th Feb, 2010 by USPS, tracking no CQ[protected]US. It reached India on 20th feb. Since then its held at customs. I called up USPS, they say that its into Indian customs. Please help.

It took 6 days for the package to reach India and now it is already a week since it was supposedly cleared by Indian customs and still it has not been delivered to me in Bangalore. What would be the contact information for the person/office able to provide correct update?

Sir/Madam: I sent a parcel containing toys for my daughter through USPS to Coimbatore India on April 9th using "Express Service" which was supposed to have been delivered within 5 to 7 working days. It has still not be delivered. USPS customer service says that the parcel was given for customs clearance and is still waiting for their clearance. They do not have any idea as to when will it be cleared or rejected. It has gone into a "blackhole" that cannot be traced. If it comes out I should think I am lucky. my registered packet against RR50743809IN to Great Britain consisting of original eucational docs has not yet been delivered to the addresse,despite numerous complains by writing & also through online complain no results,yet every time i make an online complain the case gets closed,without even verifying of the results.

I have sent a BP instrument for my grandmother who lives in Mumbai from Rhode Island, U.S.A. on the 6th of April 2010. It has been in Mumbai customs since April 10, 2010. It is 5th May 2010 today and she has still not recd the parcel. She is a 100 yrs old and is sick. This is so disappointing. To think I fight everyone when they criticize India Customs. PLEASE deliver the parcel ASAP. This is what it shows on the USPS website. What is the use if it is delivered when the person is no more?

The USPS people told me that the parcel will be received in 10 business days. Clearly its more than 60 business days now. Why

I purchased an item online via ebay and the seller shipped me a parcel from Unites States Of America via USPS (United States Postal Services) and it was designated to reach me at my residential address in Jodhpur however, i have not recieved the parcel as of now.

State Bank of India — not delivered the speed post

Dear Sir, When a speed post addressed to me came I was not at home. The intimation card delevered on 17.3.2008, I went to the MN colony post office on 20.3.2008 and was informed that the post has been sent to Chennai.
