Indian Railway Ticket Checking Staff Organisation — Regarding penalty for not taking platform ticket
Date:14/10/2015, 05:05 PM. Receipt Details: P 0152871 This was the first time I have gone to leave my sister to railway station and totally unaware of taking platform tickets. While returning back i was asked to pay Rs. 350, as penalty for not taking the platform. For Rs.10 platform ticket, I feel the penalty amount collected is huge and there is no proper receipt or reason for fine mentioned in the receipt. It is irritating and at the same time if that is the rule we are obliged to follow the same. However it would be better if these officials are asked to check the platform tickets at the entrance before we enter the railway station and direct us rather than when we leave the station after the train departure . The way the checking is done, shows the officials wants the people to commit this mistake and collect some random amount as fine. The rules/penalty should prevent and guide the people from trespassing. This would regulate and make everyone aware that one should not enter without platform ticket or travel ticket. Request some online option is introduced to take platform tickets to avoid last minute fiasco. Weird to mention how the beggars are allowed to be inside the platform, whether they were also being checked for platform ticket? Was this information helpful?
