Indian Railways — Against attitude of vendor
Dear Sir/Madam, On 5th May, 2017 at 20.15 hrs, one Mr.Jaffer who was manning the tea stall cum condiments stall in platform no.5 of Bengaluru city railway station refused to accept genuine 10 rs coins saying they have been advised not to accept them even if they were genuine. He also refused to accept any notes of higher denomination and insisted on giving exact change of 15 rs or 20 rs.by way of notes only. Unfortunately, I had notes of only higher denominations(100 and above) and did not have any other change. He even threatened me to go and complain to whomever. If this is the attitude of railway employees and if they don't accept genuine legal tenders, I wonder what the common man can do in private establishment. Please take necessary punitive action and make sure genuine notes and coins are accepted all over the railways. I have image and video proof of the whole episode, please let me know how to share. Thank you for your patience. Vijay Was this information helpful?
