Dear Sir/ Madam,
This email is regarding the repudiation of my TDR request for PNR No. [protected], please see details below:
PNR No.: [protected]
Transaction ID: [protected]
Passengers: Arati Gupta and Nikhil Krishnan
Travel date: 17-July-2021
Journey from: Kayamkulam Junction station (Kerala) to Madgaon Station (Goa)
Class: First AC
TDR filing date: 18 July 2021 (00:33.17)
TDR Reason: Train diverted and Train not touching Destination station
I would like to inform you that we boarded train No. 04559 at kayamkulam station as per departure time. However after reaching Shoranur Junction at around 12.10 p.m the TC informed us that the train would be diverting its route due to landslides in the Konkan route. We were told that the train would not touch Madgaon station and recommended that we get off the train and look for alternative trains. Also, I was told that the ticket amount would be refunded by the Railway authority. Ours being an e-ticket, the Shoranur station staff told us that we had to file TDR online for refund.
On 7th August 2021, my TDR request had been repudiated and intimated to me via email for the reason that "Passenger has travelled as per chart". This reason makes no sense because we could not travel after Shoranur Junction due to diversion. Please find the attached text message from IRCTC intimating us about the train diversion. We had to book another train and travel back home due to the inconvenience.
I have already informed in my earlier email, my husband is a patient and taking spinal injury treatment. I had booked an expensive first class AC ticket keeping in mind his health condition and current covid situation. Getting off the train midway was a very difficult situation for us. It is unacceptable to me that my refund request is rejected. I will never book online train tickets in future because if I had to take a station ticket my money would have been refunded immediately.
Please consider my appeal for refund and help me out in this matter.
Thanks and Regards,
Arati Gupta
