I was trying to purchase a ticket from delhi to a jaisalmer at the new delhi railway station and was redirected to the delhi station by one of your employees, who helped me negotiate a tuk tuk which then deposited me at an office that said international tourist bureau, and had what looked like official certificates. They sold me a 15 day railway pass insisting it was impossible to otherwise book on such short notice, charged me 370 usd which they said had to be paid in cash because otherwise they charged a second gst tax of 28%, but assured me that the pass was official and that i was paying tax on it. However, they have never given me the pass, even though i’ve asked, and are booking me in second class. I would have liked to just book the tickets myself and know that i am dealing with an authentic, official government agency. However, the obstacles placed to foreigners to book tickets online without an indian phone number make us easy victims of terrible scams. This has really colored my experience of travelling in india!!! Was this information helpful? | |
