We purchased a Pristine make Zero B water purifier (unit Serial No.52528) from Ion Exchange in February 2010. One Shantha Kumar came and gave a demo after I asked for a demo on their website. He showed us how impure our tap water was, which impressed us so much that we ordered one for Rs.
14200/-. Shanta Kumar assured us that during the warranty period, there would be 3 free services, which is mentioned even in the manual.
The first two services happened without much follow-up, but the third one has been due since October 10. I had specified that the service would have to happen on weekends only, but the service guys deliberately call on weekdays or around noon or afternoon when I happen to be outside, so they get to say that they wanted to come but I didn't agree.
I logged a complaint on their toll free number on 19th January, where I spoke to Jayashree. She gave me a complaint no. 256184 but no one has bothered to call me. I had sent umpteen SMSes to Shantha Kumar who had assured all help to us when we purchased the unit but he has not responded at all. Even called and spoke to him last week, but apart from assuring us he did nothing.
Anyone planning to buy a water purifier should keep away from Ion Exchange and not go through the harrowing experience with Ion Exchange the way I have had to.

    I bought a portable water softner 9 months back. I was promised that after three months o[censored]sage the water sample would be analysed to check the proper functioning of the softner, but since then nobody has showed up and even after repeated reminders nobody paid heed to the request. Furthermore, I was told to contact different person each and every time and the person so contacted either didn't pick up the phone or pretend to be very busy. The lax attitude didn't stop here, when I asked them to tell me the type of salt to be used for the softner I was made to vacillate from one contact to another.

    This attitude of ION EXCHANGE INDIA is highly irresponsible and some action must be taken towards such pathetic consumer service. I want strict action to be taken.
    I HAVE ACMC CONTRACT WITH ION EXCHANGE AND I HAVE COMPLAINED SEVERAL TIMES TO OUR LOCAL BANSWARA(RAJASTHAN)SERVICE PERSON THAT RO IS NO WORKING PROPERLY. BUT SINCE ABOUT TWO MONTHS PROBLEM NOT GOT SOLVED.MY SERVICE CONTRACT ICCRNO IS 83714.

      This is in regards to a complaint of one of Zero B's ex-employee - Mr. Shankar Kr. Das, Mobile# +91-[protected]. This goes back to Trade Fair held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi in November'2004. We visited Ion Exchange's stall as we were planning to get a RO system installed in our house. There we met Mr. Shankar Kr. Das & he informed us about the product. He took our contact number & subsequently called us there after. An appointment was fixed & Mr. Shankar Kr. Das visited our
      house on 05.12.2004 for product demo. As we were already looking to purchase an RO system, after demo, we gave him 500.00 in cash as an advance. At that point in time, our address was 130-C, DDA Flats, Shahpur Jat, Near Khelgaon, New Delhi. The copy of the receipt is still with us & we have mailed you a scanned copy of the same. Proforma Invoice no. G-72. We have been trying to get in touch with somebody from Ion Exchange numerous times, but till date all went in vain. We have
      made numerous phone calls to Ion Exchange, but what we heard from them was just unacceptable & unexpected. On 04.09.08, i spoke with Mr. Arvind at 02:45 pm. I explained him the whole story & at the end, he said that nothing could be done. His
      words pinched me to such an extent that i really cannot express the same. At the end of the call, he told me that i (Samarth Singh) cannot do anything about this, telling me that Mr. Shankar Kr. Das has cheated many customers the same way & the company - Ion Exchange has said that it is not responsible for the same. Even though, Mr. Shankar Kr. Das was a representative of Ion Exchange, the company on many occassions has straightaway refused to do anything, that too when we have
      relevant proof to state the claim.
      Now, it's more than 5 years & after repeated refusals in these 5 years from Ion Exchange, i have decided to escalate the matter to Consumer Court. All the follow ups have costed me a fortune, that too when i'm right on my part. We did purchased Ion Exchange's RO sys & made complete pymt. If we wanted, we could have blocked the remaining payment or get the cheque dis honored on our part, but even then we showed sincerity on our part. However, Mr. Shashi Bushan assured us that he will definately escalate the matter to the higher authorities & will get back to us, but till date nothing of that sort happened.

        Heavy leakage has been observed from the body of the Zero B RO water purifier filter which I have purchased in October 2008. The filter system could not be used since last 10 days. Complaint was given to local office in Gurgaon but even after 5 days also no action was taken. After many reminders, a person from Ion exchange visited but could not resolve the probleme.He has not communicated on further actions to be taken. He left with my signature on the sheet on which I had mentioned that 'problem not resolved'.
        I am very disappointed . Names of the local office people with whom I interacted are Pawan, Mahinder, Dolly, Bhasin.These whole lot of persons seemed extremely reluctant to my problem.

        My family is suffering because of this. I don't want this Water purifier system and want my money back with additional compensation againt the harassment I went through.

        ion exchange — not receiving feedback from the call center

        sir i am navneet seth from indore complanes that i am not satisfied from your call center i was asking him about the validity voucher so i wate 13 minutes for th result so i am not satisfied

          I had asked ION Exchange to service my Zero-B filer on June 16th. Request no. 51036
          The service was done and they had asked for filter replacement, which we agreed to.

          The following day, June 17th, we smelt burn in the filter informed the service personal from ION Exchange. The service person inspected the unit and said that, the controller in the filter is burnt and needs replacement. The cost of the controller is Rs.1500.

          I called the office and talked to Satish and Kumar. They told me that it won't be because of service and I have to bear the expense. When I told him about consumer forum, he agreed to give me 50% discount.

          But, my point, is, that, the burn on the controller happened just after the service and there is 99% possibility that, it was because of some mishandling. Either some-thing was left on the controller or water seaped in or got wet and the controller got shot.

          I had purchased this Zero-b RO filer from ION Exchange more than a year back.

            Never ever buy Ion exchange water softenizer as these guys give you a faulty piece and then no service on that. drag it for months and then say that you got to pay now for the parts as it is out of warranty period now.

            I bought a Ion Exchange softenizer for Rs. 32000 in 2007 and the day of its installation for two days i had salt water in my taps ruining all my new jacquar and grohe fittings. since then they came but every time i would fill salt the water would be so salty for two days that i had to order water from outside. I have had to change 4 geysers due to that as the salt corroded them.
            The guys dont respond and if they do come over they tell you that they will come back the next day with part but that tomorrow never comes and you are kept waiting for days till you call them again.
            The service is so poor that finally We have taken the product out and disposed of it in the garbage can.
            But for anyone who is going in for the product make sure you get it installed see that you dont get salty water in your house after the regeneration they start and then only pay as the company will never change the product for you and all you will do is only lose money and get hassled in the process as well.

            ION — Video Files Not Playing

            Sir,
            I will purchase a ION 4GB MP4/MP3 Player, But This Is Not Work in playing Video Files So I Will return This Item.My Money Have Return.Please Kindly Take The Complaint
            I purchased one Softenizer (Domestic Softner) from Ion exchange on 31st March 2010. The hardness o[censored]ntreated ground water at my home is around 350 ppm as told to me by the sales person from ION Exchange when he first and last came to me to sell their product. After purchasing / installng the product and recharging it 4-5 times as per the specifications of the company - and 2 times the recharging was done by company's engineer, still there is no improvement in the quality of water.

            I must say it is a bad investment by me on a poor product with equally poor customer service from this company.

              I purchased a Water softener from the Worlds No.1 co. in this
              feild only to find that after 19 months of purchase the multiple valve has broken & has to be replaced.What about the quality
              of components you use or you are simply putting your stamp
              & making a killing of the brand name you enjoy.
