I have used lifecell twice before and have had really good experiences. However my third time was horrible... First of all when i got my labour pains at 5 in the morning and called the representative (Jagadish) who was supposed to collect the sample, he informed me that he is in his hometown and would not be able to come! Then i contacted the local representative (Ravi) and he too happened to be in his home town... He said he would arrange someone to pick up the sample! His next question was that my due date was 12th january, so he had kept free for that particular day... Like as though babies are born on the given day! I don't know what type of people they hire these days.
I deliverd my baby at 9. And i personally contacted both of them again, ravi told me that the person would come by 1. Because they have to commute from belgaum as they have no person in goa!
At 2pm when no one turned up, i called ravi again to ask how to store the cord blood as the doctor was worried that it might get contaminated... He then told me to refrigerate it as the person is delayed... At 7.30 pm the person came to collect the sample... Its so irresponsible of the company... The representatives don't care.
Also the newborn blood and urine screening was not done, as the person who came to collect was not qualified, she informed my husband that it is to be done after 48hours. But both previous times the representative has done it after birth... Now the doctor told me that he will have to draw blood and it is not required when it should have been done right after birth...
I am really disappointed and would not recommend anyone to do this in goa as lifecell aparantly has no representative in goa... If they would have told me this earlier i wouldn't have gone in for it... And i had to keep calling them, and their phones were switched off and all sorts of problems...
