I had taken a Livpure Smart RO on rental basis. Now after only 20 days, I decided to return the machine due to personal reasons. However, Livpure refused to refund my security deposit, citing a hidden 90-day lock-in clause.
At the time of subscription, no clear or prominent communication was provided about the 90-day lock-in policy. Later, I found a small line hidden at the bottom of an email that mentions:
“If you decide to cancel your subscription within the first 3 months, your security deposit will be forfeited…â€
This is a clear case o[censored]nfair trade practice, violating the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, where terms critical to refund are buried in fine print and not clearly disclosed upfront to the consumer.
I am raising this complaint so that necessary action is taken against such misleading practices, and I am requesting:
• Full refund of my security deposit.
• Clear enforcement of transparent policies for future consumers.
