We got possession of Flat D 2303 at Lodha Splendora situated at Ghodbunder Road Thane in April 2015. However we could not complete the handover as there was a leakage and seepage problem from the ceiling and walls of the master bedroom since May 2015. We constantly complained to Lodha about the problem and were repeatedly given false assurances that the problem was fixed when in reality they were only doing some temporary patch work on the walls and ceiling and telling us to visit to confirm. We visited our flat in June, July, August, September 2015 after getting a confirmation from Lodha that the problem was resolved however each time we noticed huge water and fungus stains on the walls and ceiling and were told that it would be permanently fixed in a few days time as the vendor had to source the material. In the meantime we discovered that Lodha had not done water proofing during the construction stage due to which this problem occurred and had occurred in other flats and commercial shops as well which we noticed first hand.
Finally in mid October 2015 during our fifth inspection visit, we saw that the problem was fixed however there was no guarantee that it was a permanent solution to the water seepage as the rains had ceased. We claimed financial compensation fro Lodha as they collected flat and CAM maintenance for the five months from May to October 2015 that the flat was unusable and we could not give it out on rent as we wanted to as well. Lodha kept on making excuses and giving us the run around and finally refused to compensate us for the losses incurred.
We hope that our complaint reaches people who understand the physical, psychological and financial strain we have gone through and duly compensate us.
