Respected Sir,
This is to bring to your kind notice that I have faced an act of injustice in the interview held for the post of Assistant Professor, Orthopaedics which was held in the office of the Vice Chancellor' office, Pt. BDS PGIMS, ROHTAK. Sir, I was not allowed to appear in the interview stating that I don't have the required one year of additional teaching experience in addition to the teaching experience of three years as a resident of the DNB training during my DNB training in Central Institute of Orthopaedics, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi from 27th August 2010 to 26th August 2013. Sir, the above mentioned institute is a teaching hospital where MS/MD courses are running as well. According to the MCI guidelines for teachers' training, which have been ammended upto August 2012, the minimum eligibility criteria for the post of Assistant Professor is just three years of teaching experience either during the DNB training as a resident or after the completion of training IF THE INSTITUTION IS A TEACHING INSTITUTION WHERE MD/MS COURSES ARE RUNNING AS WELL. Sir, I am also attaching the guidelines of MCI for your ready reference. In this file which I am attaching(which is in pdf format), on page no 145 under the subject of Orthopaedics, para (C), clause no (iii), it has been clearly mentioned.
Sir, this act was a disrespect to my degree and it has also raised a finger on either the guidelines of MCI or the interview conducting authority. I request you to please go through the matter and help me in finding justice for the same.
Regards,
Dr Gaurav Kamra

while there is no concept of post duty off or pre duty off is there. once weekly duty is there which means you have to be present in the hospital for 24 hours and no off next day. which means at a stretch working for 32 hours.
secondly on weekend duties which starts on saturday morning, you have to be in the hospital full saturday full sunday which is 48 hours plus you have to do your monday routine duty 9 to 5, which means you are working for 56 hours at a stretch. and on asking for an off they say okk take 3 hours. go and take a bath and come again.
according to law of residency, a resident cannot be made to work more than 48 hours. just want the hospital to strictly adhere to the law... otherwise we will have to resort legally.
