[Resolved]  Sterling Holidays — Non refund of money

A representative (Akash) came to my house early August with a Sterling India membership. He promised many things including free RCI membership with two years validity and a minimal payment of 3000 for renewing the validity for 5 years. He also mentioned about the multiple 5 star properties that the hotel has and some 50 resorts that are operational. I made the advance payment of 20,000. He also committed that incase you do not like the membership you can cancel it within 10 days and your entire amount will be refunded.
Next day when I researched about properties, I realized they just have one property, which is a five star, and all others are three star to four star. In addition, the RCI renewal was completely wrong. I emailed them the same day to cancel my membership and process my refund. The representative called me saying that he had booked my membership in some group discount and it cannot be cancelled. After he realized that I would not entertain this stupidity, he said fine I would cancel it. Later after multiple complaints, we realized that the membership was not canceled. When one calls their customer care number (based in Chennai), after holding the phone, for anywhere between 15 to 20 min they answer that it is the Mumbai branch responsible for this and we have no information. Meanwhile when we were chasing this person, he bluntly told my wife “Do whatever you want you will not get a penny back”. I had no option but to visit their Mumbai office. A person named Mahipal gave us in writing that we will receive the money in 60 working days. So money blocked for 60 working days. After not receiving the refund in the next 60 working days, I started chasing them again in November when I realized that Mahipal was out on a leave for 3 months and there is no back up. After multiple phone calls and they finally told me, it was processed and will reach you in 7 working days. Even today, I have not received it. Mumbai branch says it with head office and head office says there is no information from the Mumbai Branch. I have spent a bomb on my STD bill and plus not sure when I will receive the money.
There are multiple complaints against this particular branch including a police case

Whoever is reading this, I would advice do not buy anything from Sterling Holidays. I have written my story above and you can very well make out from the responses on how much they care for their customers. There are many Holiday membership available for similar prices with much better customer service and better hotel properties. If you still wish to stay in Sterling Hotels just seach on OLX and other websites there are people ready to rent Sterling Hotel rooms for less than 1.5 thousand as against 3.5k for Mahindra. So do not fall in trap, else you will take ages to get your refund like I did.

My issue was resolved after 4 months and around 100 calls to your Mumbai and Chennai office. Also I must have drafted around 10 emails and finally when I threatened to take Police action. It could have been resolved long back. But you remain a unethical organization with no respect for your customers. Just try calling your Mumbai office and see if you get through anyone in the first attempt. I lost interest for 4 months and must have spend a bomb amount on these calls and invested a lot of time in mails.
I agree with you Mr Shinde. Sterling Holidays are filled with fraudsters and do not care for their customers. I had to threaten to lodge a police complaint against them to get the refund.

My membership no is 1208689. Your representative Akash contacted me for membership in December 2012 and told about the plan and offers. I agreed and deposited the downpayment. He said that membership will be finalised after receiving the call from Chennai office . He also told that during discussion with Chennai office if any difference is found (whatever told by him i.e Akash ) then you can refuse for membership and your downpayment will be refunded.
As Chennai office stated stated entire different condition and therefore I wrote him on 28th december that I don't accept the membership and you return my money.
Till then i.e 28th dec i am continuously following up your Mumbai branch and customer care. One Namrata Shirke from Mumbai office told that my membership has been processed for cancellation and no EMI will be withdrawn.EMI was not withdrawn in march.
But on 9th April again EMI of Rs 15176 has been withdrawn and my declaration form was also forged by Sterling.
Unfortunate to be the part of you organisation.Hope you will reply and resolve my issue at the earliest.
Sterling people have no ethics to behave with customers. I am been chasing with sterling people for 1 year and i am not getting my refund back. Sales Guy (Kailash) has given us all false information, promises and took money from us and no good service is been provided till date. I had also told him to stop my ECS account, he informed me that he has sent a mail to the team to stop ECS account, but then too for nearly 3 - 4 months my money was withdrawn from my account, this is really cheap and not at all acceptable from sales guy. Then the senior person visited my place and we explained to him all our problems and concerns that we faced with Sales person (Kailash) and we wanted our refund back. Till date we haven't received our refund back.

I went to hundai showroom for enquiry about car price.. after some day i go a message if i ll book the car on 24th or 25th december i ll get 20000 sterling holiday package free. when i reached at 2th i met a person named kaushik who was selling the sterling membership . I booked the memebrship that after he forced so much. but after 15 day i realised that i have invested my money in wrong place. and aclled kaushik told please cancell my membership. then suddenly he told mam please dont do that.. i said i dont want then after reading the document for cancellation procedure i send mail to sterling to cancellation of my membership.Koushik told that mam till now nobody cancel the membership. I said please check in google how many memebr cancell apply for membrship and complined in consumer court. when called banglore branch people they told, they will not return money..they told why you are calling here. call kaushik who sold membership to you. give him to police do what ever you want against him.. they i called hundia show room customer care service manager and told all the complined. she sharted follow the sterling manager mr santosh.. as per mr santosh they will return all money except processing charge. But nobody contacted me till now.. now kaushil also not recieving calls. branch manager is telling we ll not return your money..they are asking me to get approval from mr santosh for cancellation. after consulting with hundaishow room customer care maager ..when she called also mr santosh not recieving any call.. i got fed off now..still my membership is not cancelled..please helip.

It seems that dissatisfied customers are more with Sterling Holidays. They are handling customer grievances in a very unprofessionally.

Myself S Vishwanathan having a Member ship ID 1210376 has requested several times to their chennai office for cancellation of membership.
Also sent mail at [protected]@sterlingholidays.com. So far no response received.

I have paid a sum of Rs. 24255 (as down payment) Rs. 6412 as monthly instalements (for 5 months) total amounting to Rs. 56, 315.00.

Now that I am worried whether I will get the re-fund or not. Even local representative in Mumbai, Mr. Akhilesh Singh has also left the job.

Can any one help me.

It is a foolish offer given by these time share holiday, whatever it be.

1.in total they have 100 rooms and 100, 000 custmers ans still they keep on adding new customers...whea ever we make a booking they will say it is not available. We have to plan our holiday as per room availaility not as per our requirements.
2.The offer by them is if we pay 3 Lakh in advance they will give 10 days hodilay (based on worst seasone point requirements) for 25 years...is it worth.?? Also approximate 7000 INR per year is required for maintaining it. After all this we wait for room too...they are making us fool. If deposite (10%) interest, annually we will have 30000+7000 (annual fee), for 40, 000 INR you will have a wonderful staying at anywhere you want at any time you need.after 25 years you amount that deposite also you will get back. If you miss a year you can enjoy your vacation for 80, 000 INR in the next year.

So plz workout before you fell in trap with website, rep and offers...!!!

I am also one of the victim of the Sterling holidays . Same as you all are suffered. I am continuously writing them/ Calling them at Mumbai & Chennai office. but they are refusing to pay my Refund of membership fees of Rs. 25000/-

can any one help me on this, Can I take local police help?

Sterling Holiday is a cheater company. Pls don't buy any package. They explained something regarding holiday packages & when you come to know actual fact that you were cheated. They will not refund money.
Don't know how govt has left them to cheat people & every day they are making customer & cheating them.
We all have to take steps to ban this company & also should ask to punish merchants though whom they contacted us.

Applied and paid 80% for a resort in 1996 - = 80, 000
No Resort till 2012... 16 years Value of 80, 000 @ 18% (going rate in 1996) = 16 lakh
Resort built will not provide accomodation - pay rs 20, 000
I say pay rs 16 Lakh No response
Now 2018 16 Lakh is 24 lakh and still pay rs 20, 000 to get a week of hotel use ..

Interest on 24 lakh in savings account @ 4% = 96, 000

Can i get a good room for 96, 000 for one week ...

DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE CHEAT YOU OFF YOUR MONEY...
