Excessive non consumable charges to be beard by customer

My mom was admitted in Sahyadri Hospital Hadapsar on 27th Feb 2023 and was diagnosed with H3N2 Viral Influenza and was discharged after 5 days on 3rd March 2023. the total bill was 95, 328 out of which the hospital charged 25000 as non medical expenses out of which few were debatable and I spoke with the billing team and the customer care team but no one was helpful and they kept forcing me to pay the entire amount I spoke with my insurance...

Deposit money deducted in form of administration charges in case of cashless claim

Patient Gautam Naik, my spouse was admitted on 01.10.2022 for dengue treatment. While admission Rs.20000 was asked as a deposit which was said to be reimbursed while discharged. We have applied for cashless Mediclaim. However during discharge time I was refunded only Rs.3500. I asked the billing department and they said that Mediclaim has not settled this amount and hence they are deducting this. I raised a complaint to the Mediclaim office....

Patient Gautam Naik was admitted on 01.10.2022 for dengue treatment. While admission Rs.20000 was asked as a deposit which was said to be reimbursed while discharge. We have applied for cashless Mediclaim. However while discharge time I was refunded only Rs.3500. I asked the billing department they said that Mediclaim has not settled this amount and hence they are deducting this. I raised complaint to Mediclaim office. They provide the bifurcation for deduction where in they mentioned as "Non Relevant administration charges NRQty: 1.00:-7586.0". Need to know what are these charges and why was it not told to us before charging to us. This is a fraud that you take money in name of deposit and apply unnecessary charges.
Another charges was "0, NME biomedical waste charges per day:-3000.00,
NME infection control charges per day:-3000.00" what are these Rs.6000 charged for, what kind of biomedical wastes charges are these of so much big amount. My mother -in-law was also infected by dengue and she was admitted on 16.10.2022 for almost a week time in other hospital, they have not charged any such biomedical and admission charges then what does Shayadri is charging. What kind of treatment is this. The other Mediclaim company has reimbursed the entire money and we had to only have to pay RFs.800 as an administrative charges and nothing else except this. Need my hard-earned money back. Hoping a revert soon since Ill will be filing complain in consumer complaint if not getting any response for this.

    Delays in Refunds

    I was admitted in Pune Hadapsar branch for a surgery. First of all insurance team in hospital did not send the relevant Medical files to my mediassist corporate team and they asked me to pay a huge amount from my pocket otherwise they will hold the surgery. I had to do so. When I got discharged after all mediclaim settlements, the hospital billing department told me that I will get refund of my huge amount I paid within 3-4 working days....

    Discharge formalities n Advance refund

    I had to call up 10 times for my refund of Rs.20000/- for which before admission I had mentioned by insurance policy covers all billing dues, still we were forced to pay this advance, why does it takes 3days for refund? When all my cancelled cheque n aadhar details given, I find this is cheating, spoke with Mayuri n Shubham but they do not have a answer, my discharged date is[protected] my PRN-670942. I will inform this to the insurance company...

    Very pathetic situation for covid. Normal patients get positive if they once visited casualty room. Service is very poor. Feels like a you are in government hospitals. Hospital concentrate on charging you heavy bill. It's brand name but due to poor management and no covid protocol you will only get suffer rather than satisfaction.

      I am admitted to Sahyadri hospitals hadapsar pune on 29 th sept 2021 for treatment of dengue . Hospital charged me total bill of Rs 78900 approx and out of which Rs 27000 approx are non medical charges... because of that my insurance company sanctioned claim of rs 52900/- ..I m middle class single earner widowed lady..from where should I bring this much money ???? ..I want to know how can any hospital take this much amount under non medical expenses???

        My patient is admitted at Sahyadri Deccan Gymkhana in general ward. I have a complaint for overall system here. Specially the security and guard staff. They are preety rude. Also your hospital doesn't have enough space for wait. We know only one attendent is allowed but at specifically discharge time, only one person is not sufficient. At least two to three people are needed for overall process. But your security people do not allow. It's frustrating. There is no space to sit tell me how much time one can stand. Useless hospital. Useless services.

          Hello,

          I am Shantanu Kumbhar. My Dad Yashwant Kumbhar was admitted at Sahyadri on 5th of July and discharged on 9th of July. Bill of approx. ₹1, 13, 000 was charged which included Admin charge of approx ₹13000. Today, i.e. 5th of Sept has arrived and hospital has not yet returned the deposit amount of ₹2535 which was hold by Hospital on discharge. Hospital on discharge of patient had stated that the deposit refund would be done after 45 days post discharge. Almost 2 months done and deposit not yet returned. Confirmed from my insurance assistant that the settlement part is between insurance company and hospital. Hospital shouldnt be holding deposit of amount in such case. Also, defination given for admin charges was 10% of total bill which was again rubbish. They wont justify the facilities they provide taking these admin charges. On asking the rule book or protocols for the same to send via mail, I was said that this cannot be discussed on phone. Anytime I visit the hospital, I had to wait for 90 mins at times for a wheel chair to arrive. And they say 10% of bills as admin charges. No services provided on time. People sitting over there arent taught the way they need to speak with the customers. Please look into this on priority.

            Regarding extra bill not included in package

            Address: Sahyadri Hospital nagar Road.

            My pol no[protected] National Insurance company. TPA MEDI ASSIST. admission Sahyadri Hospital nagar Road on 6th May 2021, taken pre sanctions of packages. Still how hospital has deducted consultantion amt rs 8538/- and OT charge rs 2846/-total amt 11384/-which are inc with package. Copy forwarded to nationals insurance and TPA. for farther action. Kindly arrange for refund or matter will be raised to higher authority for further action....

              Vaccine Certificate Not Issued

              Good morning. The first dose vaccine certificate is still not updated on
              cowin site for the vaccine taken on 28th May from Shyadri hospital
              Nagar Road Pune. Doing a follow up with them but no positive
              response. Can you please help on this matter !! We are really tensed if

                Hi Team,

                Registration No: 1112261
                Date of Admission: 31-Oct-20
                Date of Discharge: 25-Nov-20
                Desirable Resolution: Require a Notary Affidavit of 10 days hypertension instead of 10 years which was corrected in documents by the hospital.

                My father Avinash Patil is being admitted to Sahyadri Hospital, Nagar Road and the hypertension history initially sent to the insurance company in pre-authorization was 10 years instead of 10 days because of some typo error from the hospital which they later on accepted and corrected and provided a letter to me for the same but the Insurance company is not accepting that letter and requested for notary affidavit for the same, but doctor denied to provide that without it I am unable to get my insurance claim.
                I want the same at the earliest as I have also escalated the issue to IRDA and they are also requesting the same to get it from hospital.

                    Hi, .

                    Admitted patient for kidney treatment, did two days of dialysis and everything was normal. Operation planned and a day before operation hospital said that patient is covid positive. We insisted to show test results before that they shifted to covid ward and started charging hefty amount under treatment. After insisting for RT PCR, submitted swab for it. In addition we done RT PCR from our private lab and it came out negative.

                    Still no action.we feel it's only money making and harrassing people on the name of treatment and corona.

                      First of all it's hard to reach customer service because it takes a a lot of time and the ivr options are very difficult and tricky to navigate, after all the effort the customer service is not helpful.
