[Resolved]  SBI — SBI Debit Card: Not getting OTP

Hi,

I am SBI customer at IISc, Bangalore branch. Recently I got mail in my id linked to SBI a/c about 10% cashback offer in SBI debit cards. I tried banking using my debit card but found I'm not getting OTP. However I never had any problem using online banking for shopping and transactions.

I tried contacting via customer care services but they asked me to visit my bank. I went to bank, and they asked me to update again my contact details (mobile, address etc.) for my card. Apparently I had already updated this for my online banking but they say you've to write separate applications for online banking and debit cards. (It makes no sense because my card is essentially linked to my bank). I did so and they said it'll be activated in 1 hour and I'll be getting OTP. It didn't work and I visited bank again. They again asked me write separate application that I am not receiving OTP. I did same but it has not activated yet.

The bank officials say it might take 3-4 days to activate just OTP services. I find it very strange that when my online SBI is working well, it takes so much effort to get my card working. I must say I felt the services are pathetic.

I am not getting OTP since 10- March-2016, onwards .
i was trying last three days for my online transaction but I am not getting OTP for my registered mobile no..

31-dec-2015 i was getting my OTP after that I am trying this month but I can't receive .


please help me how to resolve this issue.

Hi I am facing same problem . I stay aborad have an very emergency to transfer Money. i am not getting the OTP fed up with the online trasnsaction of SBI

i m getting OTP now..

plz check your registered mobile no is DND activated or not. if DND is activated cancel it after that u can get your OTP..

i was frustrated after not getting OTP and sms alerts of sbi. many times contacted branch.
i invented/thought of an unique solution for it.

i solved it myself
sbi branch, sbi helpline, network nodal officers all could not solve my problem of not getting otp and sms alerts

Same problem, not sure if SBI maintains two phone numbers one for Internet banking and other for transaction notifying. Which makes no sense to me. I receive messages from SBI when i withdraw cash, but i dont receive OTP's. I am totally fed up with this for everything i have to visit "HOME" branch to get it resolved. Pathetic service.

I see many a people reporting same/similar issues above. Seems consumer complaint is not working for us.

I am an SBI account holder since around seven years. I have been regularly using my SBI debit card for online transactions since years and never faced any problem. However, since the last 3-4 days, I'm not getting OTP from SBI on my phone, however many times I try. This is very sudden and it is causing me a huge amount of inconvenience. Please resolve this issue urgently.

India must dreaming about cashless transaction. When SBI is failing to send OTP and maintaining it's technical assistance for bal check etc, then cashless transaction is just an impossible dream. I am very upset about for 3-4 days that I can't transact online after evening because I'm not getting OTP in my mobile no. I'm going through medical emergency and this #### is happening with me. Come on India...stop dreaming like developed countries.

my complaint is about otp generating process.

Whenever i try to recharge my mobile or pay online bill by sbi debit card the otp number is take so much time. I receive otp after 1/2 hr but its valid only for 10 min from transaction that's why i always got failure to recharge or pay bill

so please help me

I have been facing this issue for roughly 6 months now. I hold an account in Naupada Branch (Thane, Maharashtra). Each time I visit the branch or call them or email the customer care, they either ask me a few questions and tell me my issue will be resolved or they ask me to fill an SMS alert form. God know how many of those I've filled already.
The last time I spoke to someone at SBI, she asked me if I wasn't receiving OTPs for e-wallets and I said yes to this, she actually told me that "OTHERS ARE ALSO FACING THE SAME ISSUE. YOU PROBABLY WON'T RECEIVE THE OTP". I didn't even know how to respond to this.
SOMEONE, FIX THIS ISSUE PLEASE.
